Joel Mulligan vs Greg Fulton

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego,  taking place on 23/09/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Joel the Wedge Mulligan (12(9) - 0) who hails from Tulsa, USA and Greg Fulton(17(9) - 1(1)) from Wichita, USA.  Both Mulligan and Fulton weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Sam Dunkin, and the three ringside judges are Noel Cadwalader, Sean Bowens and Peter Bara.  

Round 1: 

Fulton tries to land a left hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut.

Fulton advances into close range and throws a left hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a FEROCIOUS cross.  FULTON WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Fulton quickly recovers.

Fulton walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Fulton pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.

Mulligan steps to the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  Mulligan attempts to land a cross, but Fulton slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Fulton attempts to land a right hook, but Mulligan sidesteps and counters with a firm left hook to his opponents body.  
Fulton steps inside and drives a left hook into Mulligan's body.  
Mulligan switches the action to the outside.  Fulton hits home with a cross.  
Mulligan attempts to land an overhand right, but Fulton slips the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut.  
Fulton hits home with a sharp jab.  
Fulton attempts to land a left hook, but Mulligan sidesteps and counters with a solid cross.  
Mulligan throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a sharp left hook.  
Mulligan tries to land a right hook, but Fulton blocks the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Mulligan is looking to keep his distance and throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Mulligan tries to step out of his opponents range.  Fulton throws a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Fulton advances into close range.  Mulligan lands consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Mulligan is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Mulligan sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  Mulligan lands a right uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body, AND KNOCKS FULTON DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  
Fulton advances into close range.  Mulligan slams a big right hook into Fulton's ribcage.  FULTON HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  It looks like Fulton has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Mulligan is looking to keep the action on the outside and connects with an overhand right.  
Mulligan connects with a cross.  
Mulligan lands a straight 1 - 2.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mulligan's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Fulton's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Mulligan lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Mulligan stalks forward with a low guard, trying to draw a lead from his opponent.  Fulton throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Fulton steps inside.  Mulligan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Mulligan lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Mulligan clinches his opponent.  Fulton leans on his opponent using all his weight. Mulligan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Mulligan and breaks the clinch.  
Fulton manages to force Mulligan onto the ropes.  Fulton sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Fulton tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a SAVAGE right hook.  FULTON WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Fulton recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Fulton drives a solid left hook into his opponents body.  
Fulton attempts to land a jab, but Mulligan sidesteps and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Fulton closes the distance.  Mulligan tries to land a right hook, but Fulton blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Fulton quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Fulton attempts to land a left uppercut, but Mulligan sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Fulton is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Mulligan lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.

Fulton advances into close range and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Fulton steps inside and manouvers Mulligan onto the ropes.  Mulligan lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Mulligan digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  Mulligan holds on to his opponent.  Fulton uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Mulligan's kidney. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Mulligan is looking to keep his distance and lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Fulton steps inside.  Mulligan is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Mulligan lands a left uppercut, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head, KNOCKING FULTON DOWN!  He is unable to get up before the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Mulligan!
