John Kingi vs Robert Menjo

Boxing Daily Report from the Ndovi Promotions promoted show at Umoja Basketball Court, Nairobi,  taking place on 16/08/2043:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Kenya Super Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on KTV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are John Kingi (4(1) - 0) who hails from Nairobi, Kenya and Robert Menjo(6 - 24(2) - 3) from Nairobi, Kenya.  Both Kingi and Menjo weighed in at 115 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Paul Changeywo, and the three ringside judges are Luister Mutahi, Shaun Chelangat and Bob Mbiyu.  

Round 1: 

Kingi lands a solid cross.

Kingi pivots to the right of his opponent.  Kingi throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Kingi ties up his opponent.  Kingi pushes his forearm into Menjo's face.  The referee warns Kingi and breaks the clinch.

Kingi steps to the outside.  Menjo feints a cross, but Kingi is not fooled and lands with a left hook to Menjo's body.

Kingi switches the action to the outside.  Kingi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Menjo's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Menjo's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Kingi is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a jab.  
Menjo closes the distance.  Kingi lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Menjo gets on the inside and cuts off the ring, trapping Kingi on the ropes.  Kingi lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Kingi hits home with a cross.  
Kingi switches the action to the outside.  Kingi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Menjo throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.

Menjo is looking to close the distance and forces Kingi to retreat into a corner.  Menjo throws a right hook, but Kingi ties up his opponent.  Kingi is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Kingi switches the action to the outside.  Kingi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands an overhand right.

Kingi tries to keep the action at long range and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Menjo could be stopped here, if Kingi can find the right shot!  Kingi is on target with a spiteful cross.  MENJO IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  Menjo now seems to have his senses back.
