Brandon Curran vs Cody Devlin

Boxing Daily Report from the Iain Llewellyn promoted show at City West Hotel, Dublin,  taking place on 28/08/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Irish Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Brandon Curran (19(1) - 2) who hails from Cork, Ireland and Cody Devlin(12 - 12 - 5) from Cork, Ireland.  Curran weighed in at 122 pounds, while Devlin weighed in at 121 pounds and 11 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Sam Mulryan, and the three ringside judges are Killian Bourne, Ronan Murphy and Joshua McColl.  

Round 1: 

Curran quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a jab to the body, a jab to the head and a cross to the head.  
Curran steps inside.  Curran pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Curran lands a cross to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Curran throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut to Curran's body.  
Curran is looking to close the distance.  Curran pivots from in front of his opponent.  Curran digs in a stinging left hook to Devlin's body.  Curran ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Devlin pushes his forearm into Curran's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Devlin.  
Curran switches the action to the outside.  Curran sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Curran lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  Curran attempts to land a jab, but Devlin parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Curran steps inside and lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Curran manouvers Devlin onto the ropes.  Curran lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Curran is on target with a cross.  
Curran steps to the outside.  Devlin attempts to land a jab, but Curran slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Curran advances into close range.  Curran sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Devlin tries to land a left hook, but Curran sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Curran is looking to close the distance and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Curran quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Devlin throws a left hook, but Curran clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Curran pushes his forearm into Devlin's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Curran pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a stinging cross.  
Devlin pivots to the side of his opponent and finds the target with a jab.  
Devlin walks Curran down, trapping him on the ropes.  Curran lands a jab followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Curran advances into close range and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Curran pivots to the right of his opponent.  Curran digs in a stinging left hook to Devlin's body.  Curran clinches his opponent.  Curran is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Curran and breaks the clinch.  
Curran is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Curran finds the target with a jab.  
Curran retreats back to the ropes, and waits for his opponent to attack.  Devlin tries to tag Curran on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  
Devlin sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Curran lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Curran lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Curran connects with a sharp right uppercut.  Curran holds on to his opponent.  Curran leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Curran lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Devlin's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Devlin's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Devlin's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Devlin's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Curran lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body, AND DEVLIN IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He isnt going to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Curran!
