Tim Hughes vs Dai Blevins

Boxing Daily Report from the L2LBoxingPromotions promoted show at ALT Gym, Cardiff,  taking place on 21/09/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the British-Wales Super Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Eurosport UK, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Tim Hughes (6 - 5(2) - 1) who hails from Cardiff, UK and Dai Blevins(32(17) - 9(4)) from Cardiff, UK.  Hughes weighed in at 114 pounds and 11 ounces, while Blevins weighed in at 115 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Gethin Kerrigan, and the three ringside judges are Sam Mundy, Griffith Batton and Clinton Birney.  

Round 1: 

Blevins pivots to the left of his opponent.  Blevins throws a right hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Blevins ties up his opponent.  Blevins is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Blevins about fouling.  
Hughes sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Hughes tries to land a left uppercut, but Blevins sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Hughes sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Blevins lands a cross to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Blevins steps away from his opponent and lands a sharp jab.  
Hughes lands a left hook.  
Hughes tries to step out of his opponents range and connects with a cross.  
Blevins steps inside.  Blevins pivots to the side of his opponent and digs in a right hook to Hughes's body.  
Hughes is looking to keep his distance.  Blevins quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Blevins advances into close range.  Blevins lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  Hughes wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Blevins dabs at his face checking for damage.  Blevins has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Blevins lands a firm overhand left.  
Blevins lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He then lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Hughes is looking to keep his distance and tries to land a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Blevins steps inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Blevins holds on to his opponent.  Blevins is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Blevins and breaks the clinch.  
Hughes steps to the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Blevins gets on the inside.  Blevins sidesteps to the left of his opponent and whips in a nasty right uppercut to Hughes's body.  HUGHES IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
Hughes steps to the outside and tries to land a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Blevins forces Hughes to retreat into a corner.  Hughes throws a left hook, but Blevins clinches his opponent.  Blevins throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Blevins connects with a cross.  
Blevins gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Hughes steps away from his opponent.  Blevins feints a left hook, and then lands an overhand right, cross and an overhand right to his opponents head.  
Blevins sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with an overhand right.  
Blevins closes the distance and forces Hughes to retreat into the corner.  Blevins is on target with a stinging left uppercut.  Hughes wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Blevins dabs at his face checking for damage.  Blevins has been damaged by the clash of heads.  The foul has worsened the damage  around the left eye.  
Blevins pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Blevins lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Blevins cuts off the ring, trapping Hughes in the corner.  Blevins digs in a solid right hook to Hughes's ribs.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Hughes's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Hughes's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Hughes's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Blevins pivots to the left of his opponent and hits home with a sharp right hook.  
Blevins contemptuously drops his hands, trying to provoke his opponent.  Hughes attempts to land a jab, but Blevins blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Blevins is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Hughes tries to keep the action at long range.  Blevins feints a right hook, and then lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Blevins is looking to close the distance and is on target with a stinging left hook to Hughes's liver.

Blevins pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Hughes throws a left hook, but Blevins clinches his opponent.  Blevins leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Blevins lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head, AND DOWN GOES HUGHES!  He manages to get up at 5.  
Blevins lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Blevins attempts to land a left hook, but Hughes blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  Hughes recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Blevins lands a firm right uppercut.  Blevins clinches his opponent.  Blevins leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The referee breaks up the clinch and lectures Blevins to stop holding.  
Hughes tries to step out of his opponents range.  Blevins feints a right hook, and then lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Blevins steps to the outside.  Blevins quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a mean cross.  HUGHES IS HURT!  Hughes quickly recovers.
