Mason Breckon vs Matt Costain

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, Montreal,  taking place on 31/10/2043:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Canada Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Super Channel, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Mason Breckon (19(13) - 2(2)) who hails from Halifax, Canada and Matt Costain(9(4) - 9(4)) from Toronto, Canada.  Both Breckon and Costain weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Louis Marvingt, and the three ringside judges are Henry Popkin, Verrier Luna and Franchot Racine.  

Round 1: 

Breckon advances into close range.  Costain throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Breckon lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Breckon walks Costain into a neutral corner.  Breckon lands a firm right hook.  
Breckon lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Breckon holds on to his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Breckon is on target with a firm right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Breckon tries to land a cross, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a firm right hook.  
Breckon is looking to close the distance and drives a sharp right hook into his opponents body.  
Breckon digs in a stinging right hook to his opponents body.  
Breckon sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Breckon tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Breckon closes the distance and is on target with a sharp left uppercut to his opponents liver.  Breckon holds on to his opponent.  Breckon pushes his forearm into Costain's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Breckon to stop fouling.  
Breckon closes the distance.  Costain throws a right uppercut, but Breckon clinches his opponent.  Breckon leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Breckon is on target with a sharp right hook to his opponents body.  
Breckon lands with a sharp jab.  
Breckon steps inside and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Breckon is looking to close the distance.  Costain sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Breckon connects with a left hook.  
Breckon hits home with a left uppercut.  Breckon tries to land a jab, but Costain sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut to Breckon's body.  
Breckon gets on the inside.  Breckon sidesteps to the left of his opponent and digs in a solid left hook to Costain's liver.  
Costain is on target with a jab.  
Breckon closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Costain almost instantly recovers. 
Costain attempts to land a right hook, but Breckon sidesteps and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Breckon slams a spiteful left hook into his opponents body.  COSTAIN IS HURT!  Costain recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Breckon drives a hard jab into his opponents face.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Costain's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Costain's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Breckon walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Breckon connects with a right hook.  
Breckon lands a cross to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Costain almost instantly recovers. 
Breckon is looking to close the distance.  Breckon pivots to the right of his opponent and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Breckon sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Costain attempts to land a right hook, but Breckon blocks the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Breckon lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Costain pivots to the right of his opponent and connects with a stinging right hook.  
Breckon lands a sharp left hook.  Breckon ties up his opponent.  Breckon is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Costain is on target with a jab.  
Breckon gets on the inside.  Costain pivots to the side of his opponent.  Breckon is on target with a left hook.  
Breckon drives a sharp left hook into his opponents body.  
Breckon lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He then lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Costain quickly recovers. 
Breckon forces Costain to back into the ropes.  Costain throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Breckon lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  As Costain tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Breckon has been damaged by the clash of heads.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Breckon knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  Breckon whips in a spiteful left uppercut to his opponents body.  COSTAIN HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Costain now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
As Costain tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Breckon dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Breckon lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Breckon lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Costain throws a left hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  COSTAIN IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 6.  
Costain drives a left hook into his opponents body.  Costain tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging left hook.  
Breckon is on target with a stinging right uppercut.  
Breckon steps inside.  Costain is on target with a left hook to Breckon's body.  
Costain is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Breckon is on target with a stinging cross.  
Breckon advances into close range and is on target with a VICIOUS left uppercut.  COSTAIN IS HURT!  Costain quickly recovers. 
Costain lands a sharp cross.

Costain throws a left hook, but Breckon ties up his opponent.  Breckon is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Breckon sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND COSTAIN IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 8.  
Costain tries to land a left hook, but Breckon sidesteps and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Costain hits home with a stinging jab.  
Breckon feints a right hook, and then finds the target with a ramrod jab.  
Breckon lands a hard jab.

He lectures Breckon about fouling.

Breckon DETONATES a SAVAGE left hook on his opponents face.  COSTAIN IS DOWN!  HE TRIES TO RISE ON SHAKY LEGS BUT COSTAIN CAN'T BEAT THE COUNT!  The winner by KO is Breckon!
