Ivan Matos vs Jose Cal

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Cuba-Camaguey promoted show at Camaguey Peno, Camaguey,  taking place on 23/10/2043:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Cuba-Camaguey Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ivan Matos (23(9) - 3(2)) who hails from Camaguey, Cuba and Jose Cal(9 - 5 - 1) from Camaguey, Cuba.  Matos weighed in at 159 pounds And 4 ounces, while Cal weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Guillermo Laureano, and the three ringside judges are Angel Munoz, Reyes Correa and Senon Linares.  

Round 1: 

Matos closes the distance.  Matos drives a right uppercut into Cal's ribcage.  Matos holds on to his opponent.  Matos pushes his forearm into Cal's face.  The ref breaks Matos's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Cal tries to keep the action at long range and hits home with a cross.  
Matos is looking to close the distance.  Cal quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Cal connects with a right hook.  Matos holds on to his opponent.  Matos pushes his forearm into Cal's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Matos about fouling.  
Matos lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Matos holds on to his opponent.  Matos leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Matos manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Matos senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Cal and just needs the right shot.  Matos lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND SENDS CAL TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  Cal now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Matos drives a sharp right uppercut into Cal's body.  Matos clinches his opponent.  Matos is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Matos throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Matos clinches his opponent.  Cal uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Matos's kidney. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Matos manages to force Cal into a corner.  Matos lands two right hook's to the body followed by a left hook to the head, AND CAL IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 9.  Cal quickly recovers. 
Cal throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a solid left hook.  
Matos lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Matos lands a right uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Matos lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Matos drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Matos lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs, KNOCKING CAL DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  
The right shot from Matos could be enough to force the stoppage!  Matos lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND CAL IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  Cal now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Matos is on target with a solid right hook to his opponents ribs.  Matos clinches his opponent.  Matos leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Matos lands a left uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Matos lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Matos drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Matos lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Matos lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Cal's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Matos lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Matos sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  Matos lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body, AND DROPS CAL TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  
Matos is on target with a firm left uppercut.  Cal now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Matos digs in a sharp right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Matos is on target with a left hook.  
Matos slams a hurtful right hook into Cal's body.  CAL WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Cal almost instantly recovers. 
Matos sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head, AND SENDS CAL TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 8.  
Matos senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Cal and just needs the right shot.  Matos is on target with a WICKED right hook.  CAL IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  HE ISNT GOING TO BEAT THE COUNT!  The winner by KO is Matos!
