Aaron Ferris vs Carl McMahon

Boxing Daily Report from the Iain Llewellyn promoted show at National Stadium, Dublin,  taking place on 30/10/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Irish-Leinster Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Aaron Ferris (14(4) - 1 - 2) who hails from Dublin, Ireland and Carl McMahon(12 - 10(4) - 1) from Dun Laoghaire, Ireland.  Ferris weighed in at 134 pounds And 11 ounces, while McMahon weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ross Gauld, and the three ringside judges are Sam Mulryan, Shamus Quirke and Fionn Delaney.  

Round 1: 

Ferris connects with a firm right uppercut.  
Ferris closes the distance and lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  Ferris holds on to his opponent.  Ferris is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Ferris is on target with a stinging right uppercut.  
Ferris steps inside and is on target with a telling left hook to his opponents body.  IT LOOKS LIKE MCMAHON WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Ferris clinches his opponent.  Ferris pushes his forearm into McMahon's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Ferris to stop fouling.  
McMahon now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Ferris advances into close range and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Ferris sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  McMahon throws a right hook, but Ferris ties up his opponent.  Ferris leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Ferris's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Ferris lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Ferris holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks Ferris's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  McMahon quickly recovers. 
Ferris walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Ferris lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Ferris is on target with a forceful right hook to McMahon's body.  MCMAHON HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  Ferris ties up his opponent.  Ferris is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  It looks like McMahon has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Ferris lands a left hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Ferris is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the body, AND SENDS MCMAHON SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  
Ferris closes the distance and walks his opponent into a neutral corner.  Ferris lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
McMahon steps away from his opponent and attempts to land a cross, but Ferris blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Ferris lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.

Ferris lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McMahon's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  McMahon's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  McMahon's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

McMahon tries to step out of his opponents range and tries to land an overhand left, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a solid right uppercut.  
Ferris advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Ferris is looking to close the distance and hits home with a sharp right uppercut.
