David Zaza vs Denton Byrne

Boxing Daily Report from the Western Promotions promoted show at Next Gym, Melbourne,  taking place on 14/11/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Australia-Victoria Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are David Zaza (14(8) - 7(3) - 1) who hails from Melbourne, Australia and Denton Byrne(10 - 3 - 2) from Melbourne, Australia.  Both Zaza and Byrne weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is John Travis, and the three ringside judges are Ian Espy, John Kamenskiy and Michael Castellaw.  

Round 1: 

Zaza steps inside and lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Byrne throws a left hook, but Zaza clinches his opponent.  Zaza is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Zaza to stop fouling.  
Byrne pivots to the side of his opponent.  Zaza lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Zaza attempts to land a jab, but Byrne slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Zaza closes the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Zaza drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  Zaza clinches his opponent.  Zaza throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Zaza leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Zaza steps inside and drives a left hook into Byrne's liver.  Zaza clinches his opponent.  Zaza tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Byrne behind the head. Zaza leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Zaza walks his opponent down, trapping him in the blue corner.  Zaza digs in a solid right uppercut to Byrne's body.  
Byrne steps to the outside.  Zaza connects with a cross.  Zaza throws a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Zaza connects with a sharp cross.  
Zaza quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a firm right uppercut.  
Zaza connects with a left hook.  
Zaza gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut, right uppercut and a right hook to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Byrne's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Byrne's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Zaza manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Zaza lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Byrne attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action and gives Zaza time to recover.  
Zaza steps inside.  Zaza connects with a left hook.  Zaza clinches his opponent.  Zaza pushes his forearm into Byrne's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Zaza about fouling.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Zaza dabs at his face checking for damage.

He doesnt look in good shape though! Byrne is still on wobbly legs as the ref signals that the fight is over.  The winner by TKO is Zaza!
