David Merrick vs Peter Allen

Boxing Daily Report from the GB Promotions promoted show at Swindon Griffiths, Swindon,  taking place on 18/11/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the British-Southern England Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are David Merrick (9 - 9 - 1) who hails from London, UK and Peter Allen(3 - 1) from London, UK.  Merrick weighed in at 118 pounds and 8 ounces, while Allen weighed in at 117 pounds and 4 ounces.    As Merrick came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Arthur Dawes, and the three ringside judges are Sam Stalker, Ashley Gilkeson and Dominic Ready.  

Round 1: 

Merrick hits home with a cross.  
Merrick is on target with an overhand left.  
Allen lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a right uppercut to the head.

Merrick switches the action to the outside and tries to land a jab, but Allen parries the shot and counters with a sharp left hook to his opponents body.  
Merrick hits home with an overhand right.  
Merrick steps to the outside and throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Allen is looking to close the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Allen lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  
Allen gets on the inside.  Merrick attempts to land a right hook, but Allen sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.

Allen manouvers Merrick into the corner.  Allen lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head, AND DROPS MERRICK!  The count reaches 10, but Merrick is unable to get up!  The winner by KO is Allen!
