Davie Couch vs Will Balch

Boxing Daily Report from the Ravens promoted show at Houston Hire, Houston,  taking place on 06/12/2043:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-SouthWest Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Davie Couch (23(16) - 2 - 1) who hails from Tempe, USA and Will Balch(20 - 12(3) - 4) from El Paso, USA.  Couch weighed in at 140 pounds, while Balch weighed in at 140 pounds and 10 ounces.    As Balch came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Sammy Blythe, and the three ringside judges are Mark Maddock, Ian Hesson and Leo Ovens.  

Round 1:

Couch leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Balch steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  Balch lands a cross.

Couch lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a jab, cross and an overhand right to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS BALCH DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.
