Rob Gordon vs Hayden Hire

Boxing Daily Report from the FightArama promoted show at Vodafone Event Centre, Auckland,  taking place on 11/12/2043:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Rob Gordon (9(4) - 0) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and Hayden Hire(5 - 0) from Hamilton, New Zealand.  Gordon weighed in at 112 pounds, while Hire weighed in at 111 pounds And 7 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Joey Bridgeforth, and the three ringside judges are Colin Lawder, Opi Ngaikiha and Jack Hislop.  

Round 1: 

Gordon gets on the inside and digs in a stinging left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Gordon switches the action to the outside and is on target with an overhand left.  
Gordon steps inside.  Hire quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Gordon is on target with a right hook.  
Gordon walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Gordon is on target with a solid right uppercut to Hire's body.  Gordon ties up his opponent.  Gordon pushes his forearm into Hire's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Gordon drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  Gordon clinches his opponent.  Gordon is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Gordon and breaks the clinch.  
Gordon sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Hire throws a left hook, but Gordon holds on to his opponent.  Gordon leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Gordon gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Gordon throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Gordon advances into close range and whips in a nasty left uppercut to Hire's liver.  HIRE IS HURT!  Gordon clinches his opponent.  Gordon leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  Hire almost instantly recovers. 
Gordon lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Gordon steps inside.  Gordon is on target with a stinging right hook to his opponents body.  
Gordon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Hire throws a right hook, but Gordon holds on to his opponent.  Gordon uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Hire's kidney. 
Gordon lands a cross to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Gordon advances into close range and digs in a left hook to Hire's liver.  
Gordon drives a left uppercut into Hire's body.  Gordon wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Hire dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Gordon sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Gordon attempts to land a cross, but Hire dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
Gordon steps inside and throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Gordon walks his opponent down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Gordon pivots to the left of his opponent.  Gordon drives a left hook into Hire's body.  Gordon tries to land a right hook, but Hire parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Gordon lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Gordon ties up his opponent.  Gordon hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. 
Gordon is on target with a right hook.  
Gordon pivots to the left of his opponent and digs in a firm left uppercut to Hire's liver.  
Gordon pivots to the right of his opponent.  Gordon lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  Gordon clinches his opponent.  Gordon is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Gordon drives a right hook into Hire's body.  
Hire tries to land a left hook, but Gordon blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Gordon pivots to the side of his opponent and digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Hire's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Hire's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Gordon sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Gordon lands with a solid jab.  
Gordon lands a cross.  
Gordon advances into close range.  As Gordon tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Hire has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Gordon lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Gordon pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Gordon lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Gordon advances into close range.  Gordon pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Gordon lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body, KNOCKING HIRE DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  Hire recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Gordon steps inside and hits home with a left hook.  
Gordon lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Gordon is on target with a firm left hook to his opponents body.  
Gordon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Gordon closes the distance.  Hire quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Hire tries to land a right hook, but Gordon sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Gordon sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Gordon lands a left hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  Gordon clinches his opponent.  Gordon is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. As they grapple, Gordon pushes his forearm into Hire's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Gordon about fouling.  
Gordon lands a right uppercut to the head, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Gordon pivots from in front of his opponent and finds the target with a hard jab.  
Gordon gets on the inside.  Gordon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Gordon lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Gordon lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Gordon steps inside and is on target with a left hook.  Gordon holds on to his opponent.  Gordon is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Gordon to stop holding.

Gordon digs in a left uppercut to his opponents liver.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Hire.  The foul has worsened the damage  around the left eye.  
Gordon attempts to land a right hook, but Hire blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Gordon lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Gordon manages to force Hire into a corner.  Gordon pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.

Hire connects with a right hook.  
Gordon lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Gordon pivots to the side of his opponent.  Gordon attempts to land a right hook, but Hire blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Gordon lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Gordon sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  It looks like Hire has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Gordon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Gordon sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Hire sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Gordon lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Gordon steps inside.  Gordon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a firm right hook to his opponents ribs.  HIRE IS HURT!  
Gordon pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a solid right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Gordon manouvers Hire onto the ropes.  Gordon is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Gordon lands a big cross.  HIRE HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.

Gordon lands a left uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Gordon gets on the inside.  Gordon pivots from in front of his opponent and slams a spiteful left uppercut into his opponents liver.  HIRE IS HURT!  
Gordon sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  Gordon crashes a mean right hook to Hire's body.  HIRE HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  HE TRIES TO RISE ON SHAKY LEGS BUT HIRE CAN'T BEAT THE COUNT!  The winner by KO is Gordon!
