Patrick Flanagan vs Darragh Maguire

Boxing Daily Report from the HONEYPUNCH promoted show at Royal Dublin Society, Dublin,  taking place on 23/01/2044:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Irish Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Setanta Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Patrick Flanagan (37(25) - 9(8) - 1) who hails from Drogheda, Ireland and Darragh Maguire(12 - 5(3)) from Dublin, Ireland.  Both Flanagan and Maguire weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Lee Beirne, and the three ringside judges are Billy Ruane, Michael Sloan and Sam McCaig.  

Round 1: 

Flanagan lands a cross.  
Maguire lands a stiff jab.  
Maguire steps to the outside and is on target with a jab.  Maguire attempts to land an overhand left, but Flanagan blocks the shot and counters with a solid right uppercut to Maguire's ribcage.  
Flanagan is looking to keep his distance.  Maguire lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Flanagan is looking to close the distance and crashes a big right hook to his opponents body.  IT LOOKS LIKE MAGUIRE WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Flanagan lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Flanagan throws a right hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  It looks like Maguire has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Flanagan closes the distance and lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Maguire snaps his opponents head back with a ramrod jab.  
Maguire lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Flanagan gets on the inside.  Maguire lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.

Flanagan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Maguire attempts to land a jab, but Flanagan sidesteps and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Maguire finds the target with a jab.

Flanagan gets on the inside and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Flanagan closes the distance and throws a right hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Flanagan holds on to his opponent.  Maguire pushes his forearm into Flanagan's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Maguire.  
Maguire lands with a  jab.  
Maguire is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Maguire lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Maguire throws a left hook, but Flanagan ties up his opponent.  Maguire uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Flanagan behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Flanagan connects with a firm cross.  
Flanagan pivots to the left of his opponent.  Flanagan attempts to land a jab, but Maguire sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Maguire is on target with a left uppercut.  
Flanagan is on target with a left hook.  
Flanagan hits home with a firm right hook.  Flanagan clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Flanagan pushes his forearm into Maguire's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Flanagan about fouling.  
Flanagan lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Maguire steps away from his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
Maguire connects with a cross.  
Flanagan hits home with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Flanagan's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Maguire's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Maguire's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Flanagan lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Maguire quickly recovers. 
Flanagan walks Maguire down, trapping him in a corner.  Flanagan lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Flanagan throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Flanagan lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Maguire connects with a right hook.  As Maguire tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Flanagan dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Flanagan hits home with a left hook.  
Flanagan lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.
