Eoghan Connell vs Daniel Mullen

Boxing Daily Report from the Iain Llewellyn promoted show at University Arena, Limerick,  taking place on 19/02/2044:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Irish-Munster Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Eoghan Connell (16(4) - 7(1) - 2) who hails from Waterford, Ireland and Daniel Mullen(6 - 2 - 1) from Cork, Ireland.  Connell weighed in at 160 pounds, while Mullen weighed in at 159 pounds and 11 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Killian Corcoran, and the three ringside judges are Evan Mohan, Shamus Brogan and Seamus Kavanagh.  

Round 1: 

Connell is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Connell lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  
Connell advances into close range and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  Connell holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Connell pushes his forearm into Mullen's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Connell lands a stinging right uppercut.  
Connell manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Connell lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by two right hook's to the head.  
Connell pivots to the right of his opponent.  Connell connects with a solid left uppercut.  Connell holds on to his opponent.  Mullen uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Connell's kidney. 
Connell is looking to close the distance and connects with a stinging left hook.  
Connell lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Connell clinches his opponent.  Connell pushes his forearm into Mullen's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Connell about fouling.  
Connell lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Connell walks Mullen into the corner.  Connell lands two right hooks followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Connell is on target with a firm right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Connell lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Connell is on target with a firm right hook to his opponents body.  
Connell is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Connell lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.

Mullen hits home with a right hook.

Connell closes the distance and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Connell clinches his opponent.  Connell tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Mullen's kidney. Connell leans on his opponent using all his weight. Connell throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. 
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mullen's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Connell gets on the inside.  Connell pivots to the side of his opponent.  Connell attempts to land a right uppercut, but Mullen slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Connell is looking to close the distance and lands a right uppercut, left hook and a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Connell lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  Connell ties up his opponent.  Connell leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.

Connell cuts off the ring, trapping Mullen on the ropes.  Connell lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.

Connell manouvers his opponent into the blue corner.  Connell stalks his opponent...he just needs the right shot to put his opponent away!  Connell SLAMS a SAVAGE left uppercut into his opponents face.  MULLEN IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  HE FAILS TO BEAT THE COUNT!  The winner by KO is Connell!
