Xaver Melchor vs Edmundo Montalvo

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Boxing promoted show at Stub Hub Center (Tennis), Los Angeles,  taking place on 13/02/2044:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Xaver Melchor (10(9) - 1) who hails from Caracas, Venezuela and Edmundo Montalvo(11 - 4(1)) from Cali, Colombia.  Melchor weighed in at 118 pounds, while Montalvo weighed in at 117 pounds and 11 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Greg Blanco, and the three ringside judges are Ricky Kinnon, Bryan Cadwallader and Morgan Reuben.  

Round 1: 

Montalvo is looking to close the distance.  Montalvo pivots to the right of his opponent and drives a right uppercut into his opponents ribcage.

Montalvo steps inside and digs in a left hook to Melchor's body.  
Montalvo pivots to the side of his opponent.  Melchor lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Melchor tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Melchor digs in a solid right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Montalvo hits home with a right hook.  
Melchor is looking to keep his distance and drives a solid cross into his opponents body.  
Montalvo advances into close range.  Melchor attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Montalvo's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Montalvo cuts off the ring, trapping Melchor on the ropes.  Melchor EXPLODES a SAVAGE left hook into his opponents face.  MONTALVO IS HURT!  Melchor attempts to land a left hook, but Montalvo blocks the shot and counters with a solid cross.  
Melchor is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Melchor lands a double left hook to his opponents head, AND SENDS MONTALVO TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 8.  
Melchor steps away from his opponent.  Melchor EXPLODES a BRUTAL cross into his opponents face.  MONTALVO IS DOWN!  HE IS STILL STRUGGLING TO HIS FEET AS THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Melchor!
