Mark Mattox vs Andy McCoig

Boxing Daily Report from the Southpaw Syndicate promoted show at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Atlantic City,  taking place on 27/02/2044:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Mark Mattox (4(3) - 1) who hails from Oxnard, USA and Andy McCoig(3(1) - 1) from Madison, USA.  Both Mattox and McCoig weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ewan McLoughlin, and the three ringside judges are Cody Normand, Valentino Brunelli and Jamie Loudon.  

Round 1: 

Mattox switches the action to the outside and lands a cross to McCoig's body.  
Mattox advances into close range.  McCoig throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a sharp right uppercut.  
Mattox is on target with a stinging right hook.  Mattox holds on to his opponent.  McCoig uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Mattox's kidney. 
McCoig lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.  
McCoig walks Mattox down, trapping him on the ropes.  McCoig hits home with a right hook.  
Mattox steps to the outside and hits home with a stinging cross.  
McCoig closes the distance.  Mattox throws a left hook, but his opponent avoids the shot.  Mattox clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, McCoig pushes his forearm into Mattox's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns McCoig.  
Mattox lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.  
McCoig walks his opponent onto the ropes.  McCoig sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  McCoig connects with a solid left hook.  Mattox clinches his opponent.  Mattox leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Mattox's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
McCoig lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Mattox steps inside and is on target with a sharp left uppercut.  
McCoig lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
McCoig hits home with a left uppercut.  
McCoig is on target with a left hook to Mattox's body.  
Mattox steps to the outside.  McCoig lands a stinging jab.  
McCoig steps inside and walks his opponent onto the ropes.  McCoig throws a right hook, but Mattox clinches his opponent.  McCoig leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Mattox lands a cross, left hook and a cross to his opponents head.  
Mattox steps away from his opponent.  McCoig drives a cross into his opponents body.  McCoig throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.

McCoig attempts to land a cross, but Mattox dodges the shot and counters with a FIERCE right hook.  MCCOIG IS HURT!  
Mattox senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Mattox lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND DROPS MCCOIG!  He beats the count, getting up at 9.  McCoig now seems to have his senses back.  
McCoig closes the distance.  Mattox sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Mattox digs in a left uppercut to McCoig's liver.  Mattox holds on to his opponent.  McCoig leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.
