Lewis Whitfield vs Phil Fannon

Boxing Daily Report from the Zulu Promotions promoted show at Vincent McCorquodale Gym, Virginia Beach,  taking place on 07/03/2044:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Virginia Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Lewis Whitfield (5 - 7 - 3) who hails from Norfolk, USA and Phil Fannon(5 - 21(2) - 2) from Norfolk, USA.  Whitfield weighed in at 146 pounds And 3 ounces, while Fannon weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Cole Scott, and the three ringside judges are Thomas Miller, Cole Scott and Jamie McClennen.  

Round 1: 

Fannon is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a cross.  
Fannon switches the action to the outside.  Fannon feints a right hook, but Whitfield is not fooled and lands with a right hook.  
Whitfield closes the distance and forces Fannon to retreat into a corner.  Fannon connects with a right hook.  
Whitfield closes the distance and is on target with a right hook.  
Whitfield walks Fannon down, trapping him on the ropes.  Whitfield is on target with a left hook.
