Leo Smeaton vs Shaun Halbert

Boxing Daily Report from the Greedy Promotions promoted show at Macon Nappier, Macon,  taking place on 07/04/2044:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Georgia Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Leo Smeaton (17 - 18(2) - 6) who hails from Augusta, USA and Shaun Halbert(7(2) - 2(2)) from Savannah, USA.  Both Smeaton and Halbert weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Arran Culp, and the three ringside judges are Harry Baisley, Bart Craigie and Robert Horn.  

Round 1: 

Halbert steps inside and connects with a left hook.  
Halbert is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Halbert lands a right uppercut to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head.  Halbert ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Halbert pushes his forearm into Smeaton's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Halbert steps inside.  Halbert sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a sharp right hook into his opponents body.  
Halbert lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  Halbert ties up his opponent.  Halbert pushes his forearm into Smeaton's face.  The referee warns Halbert and breaks the clinch.  
Halbert lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Halbert holds on to his opponent.  Halbert throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Halbert to stop fouling.  
Halbert is looking to close the distance.  Halbert sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by two right hook's to the head.  
Halbert closes the distance and manages to force Smeaton into the corner.  Halbert sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Halbert connects with a solid left hook.  
Halbert steps inside and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Halbert lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Halbert lands a left hook to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Halbert closes the distance and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Halbert steps inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Smeaton steps to the outside.  Smeaton sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Halbert connects with a stinging overhand left.  
Smeaton lands a cross to Halbert's body.  
Halbert advances into close range.  Halbert pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left uppercut, right hook and a left hook to his opponents head.  
Halbert gets on the inside and lands a left hook.  
Halbert lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Smeaton's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Smeaton's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Smeaton's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Halbert leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Halbert is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Halbert.  
Halbert hits home with a right hook.  
Halbert drives a sharp right hook into Smeaton's body.

Halbert thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Smeaton away.  Halbert lands a right uppercut to the body, a left hook to the body and a cross to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  
Halbert lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND DROPS SMEATON TO THE CANVAS!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Halbert!
