Stephen Malpass vs David Ashley

Boxing Daily Report from the Zulu Promotions promoted show at Vincent McCorquodale Gym, Virginia Beach,  taking place on 07/04/2044:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Virginia Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Stephen Malpass (2 - 9 - 1) who hails from Chesapeake, USA and David Ashley(9 - 7(2) - 2) from Chesapeake, USA.  Malpass weighed in at 153 pounds and 6 ounces, while Ashley weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dan Whalen, and the three ringside judges are Dan Whalen, Hugh Wallach and Ewan Farris.  

Round 1: 

Malpass sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Ashley hits home with a cross.  
Ashley sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
Ashley connects with a right uppercut.  
Malpass connects with a cross.  
Ashley steps inside and is on target with a right hook.  
Malpass throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.

Ashley manouvers Malpass into the blue corner.  Ashley throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Ashley pivots to the side of his opponent and drives a right hook into his opponents body.
