John Morton vs Tommy Ross

Boxing Daily Report from the Jaromir Dobroniecki promoted show at Brixton Academy, London,  taking place on 12/04/2044:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are John Morton (1(1) - 0) who hails from Columbus, USA and Tommy Ross(18 - 12(4) - 1) from London, UK.  Both Morton and Ross weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Michael Findlay, and the three ringside judges are Paul McCowen, Brin Wyburn and Michael McGrath.  

Round 1: 

Morton steps inside.  Morton drives a firm left hook into Ross's body.  ROSS IS HURT!  Morton ties up his opponent.  Morton is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Morton.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  Ross quickly recovers. 
Ross throws a left uppercut, but Morton clinches his opponent.  Morton pushes his forearm into Ross's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Morton to stop fouling.  
Morton advances into close range and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Morton holds on to his opponent.  Morton is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Morton hits home with a solid right hook.  Morton clinches his opponent.  Morton is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Ross is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Morton lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Morton lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Morton clinches his opponent.  Morton tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Ross behind the head. The ref breaks Morton's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Morton is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Morton is on target with a powerful left hook to his opponents body.  ROSS HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Ross now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Morton lands a right hook followed by  two left uppercuts to his opponents body.  Morton ties up his opponent.  Morton leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Ross throws a right hook, but Morton ties up his opponent.  Morton is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Morton lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Ross tries to keep the action at long range.  Morton connects with a sharp cross.  
Morton closes the distance.  Morton sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Morton steps inside and digs in a left uppercut to Ross's ribs.  
Morton lands a right hook.  Morton clinches his opponent.  Morton leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Morton advances into close range and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Morton clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Morton pushes his forearm into Ross's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Morton lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Ross switches the action to the outside.  Morton lands two jabs followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Morton gets on the inside and drives a left hook into Ross's liver.  
Morton quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Morton lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND KNOCKS ROSS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  Ross quickly recovers. 
Morton lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Ross quickly recovers. 
Morton lands a right uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents body.  
Morton drives a sharp right hook into his opponents ribs.

Ross sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Morton lands a stinging right hook.  Morton ties up his opponent.  Morton leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Morton is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Morton and breaks the clinch.

Morton digs in a left hook to Ross's body.  
Ross throws a right hook, but Morton clinches his opponent.  Morton leans on his opponent using all his weight. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Morton to stop holding.  
Morton cuts off the ring, trapping Ross in the red corner.  Morton digs in a solid right hook to his opponents body.  
Morton sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Morton lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Morton lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a right hook to the body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Ross's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Ross's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Morton manages to force Ross onto the ropes.  Morton crashes a nasty right hook to his opponents ribs.  IT LOOKS LIKE ROSS WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Ross almost instantly recovers. 
Ross steps away from his opponent.  Morton lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Morton throws a left uppercut, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Morton holds on to his opponent.  Morton tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Ross's kidney. Morton leans on his opponent using all his weight. The referee breaks up the clinch and lectures Morton to stop holding.

Morton sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a jab to the head, a left hook to the body and a cross to the head.  
Ross quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Ross tries to land a cross, but Morton blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Morton lands a left hook to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Morton lands two jab's to the head followed by a right hook to the body.

Morton sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a left hook.  As Morton tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Ross has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.

Morton cuts off the ring, trapping Ross in the corner.  Morton pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a solid right uppercut to Ross's ribs.  
Morton lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Ross quickly recovers. 
Morton quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a solid left hook to Ross's body.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ross dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Morton is on target with a FEROCIOUS left hook.  ROSS IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  HE TRIES TO RISE ON SHAKY LEGS BUT ROSS CAN'T BEAT THE COUNT!  The winner by KO is Morton!
