Mark Kavula vs Lewis De Jongh

Boxing Daily Report from the African Boxing Kingdom promoted show at Johannesburg Stadium, Johannesburg,  taking place on 30/05/2044:

Clearly African Boxing Kingdom have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Southern African Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Mark Kavula (11(9) - 0) who hails from Khayelitsha, South Africa and Lewis De Jongh(11 - 3(3) - 1) from Cape Town, South Africa.  Both Kavula and De Jongh weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Quaddus Rascalimu, and the three ringside judges are Luvolwethu Khumalo, Ndumisa Ntuli and Tokelo Mpontshane.  

Round 1: 

De Jongh gets on the inside.  Kavula quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a solid left uppercut to De Jongh's ribs.  
Kavula lands a hard jab.  
Kavula switches the action to the outside and lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Kavula lands a cross to the head, a jab to the body and a jab to the head.  
Kavula throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
De Jongh tries to keep the action at long range and lands a jab.  
Kavula feints a cross, and then hits home with a solid overhand right.  
De Jongh gets on the inside.  Kavula digs in a stinging right uppercut to his opponents body.  
De Jongh is looking to close the distance and walks Kavula down, trapping him on the ropes.  De Jongh is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribs.  
De Jongh quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Kavula lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
De Jongh drives a left uppercut into Kavula's body.  
De Jongh is looking to close the distance.  Kavula throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Kavula steps to the outside and drives a firm jab into his opponents body.  
De Jongh connects with a right uppercut.  
Kavula steps to the outside and connects with a sharp cross.  
De Jongh connects with an overhand right.  De Jongh attempts to land an overhand right, but Kavula slips the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
De Jongh is looking to close the distance and manages to force Kavula onto the ropes.  Kavula lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
De Jongh steps inside.  Kavula slams a mean right hook into his opponents body.  DE JONGH IS HURT!  
Kavula switches the action to the outside.  Kavula stalks his opponent...he just needs the right shot to put his opponent away!  Kavula lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body, KNOCKING DE JONGH DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  It looks like De Jongh has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
De Jongh steps inside and throws a right uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Kavula is looking to keep the action on the outside and hits home with an overhand right.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...De Jongh's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  De Jongh's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

De Jongh pivots to the side of his opponent.  Kavula lands a straight 1 - 2.  He continues the combination and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
De Jongh advances into close range.  Kavula is on target with a firm left hook.  
De Jongh attempts to land a right uppercut, but Kavula blocks the shot and counters with a sharp cross.  
De Jongh hits home with a cross.  
Kavula lands with a spiteful jab.  
Kavula lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
De Jongh sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Kavula lands a cross.  
Kavula steps to the outside and lands two jabs followed by a cross to his opponents head.

De Jongh steps inside and drives a right uppercut into Kavula's body.  
De Jongh is looking to close the distance.  De Jongh pivots to the left of his opponent and drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Kavula is on target with a stinging jab.  
De Jongh advances into close range.  De Jongh goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref ignores Kavula's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Kavula lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body, AND DROPS DE JONGH TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
De Jongh throws a left hook, but Kavula ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, De Jongh pushes his forearm into Kavula's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns De Jongh.  
Kavula tries to step out of his opponents range.  Kavula sidesteps to the right of his opponent and finds the target with a ramrod jab.  
De Jongh steps inside and manouvers Kavula onto the ropes.  Kavula throws a left hook, but the shot is blocked.  Kavula holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Kavula pushes his forearm into De Jongh's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Kavula to stop fouling.

Kavula switches the action to the outside and lands a ramrod jab.  
Kavula lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Kavula is looking to keep his distance and connects with a hurtful cross.  IT LOOKS LIKE DE JONGH WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
De Jongh gets on the inside and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Some sustained pressure from Kavula could be enough to finish De Jongh!  Kavula is on target with a CRUSHING left uppercut.  DE JONGH IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  De Jongh now seems to have got his legs back.  
Kavula steps to the outside.  De Jongh throws an overhand right, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a spiteful left hook to De Jongh's body.  DE JONGH IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 5.

The ref does not give De Jongh the chance to beat the count...The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Kavula!
