Dave McDermott vs Carl McGuire

Boxing Daily Report from the Mr. Vicious promoted show at Dun Laoghaire McCamish, Dun Laoghaire,  taking place on 26/05/2044:

Clearly Mr. Vicious have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Dave McDermott (0 - 0) who hails from Limerick, Ireland and Carl McGuire(0 - 2) from Cork, Ireland.  McDermott weighed in at 129 pounds and 13 ounces, while McGuire weighed in at 129 pounds and 10 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Cillian Murphy, and the three ringside judges are Roy Spalding, Liam Healey and Lee Donnell.  

Round 1: 

McDermott lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.

McGuire walks McDermott down, trapping him on the ropes.  McGuire throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
McGuire steps inside and throws a right hook, but McDermott holds on to his opponent.  McGuire is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks McDermott's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
McDermott feints a cross, and then lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
McGuire steps inside.  McDermott SLAMS a FIERCE right hook into his opponents face.  MCGUIRE IS HURT!  McDermott clinches his opponent.  McDermott is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. McDermott pushes his forearm into McGuire's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  McGuire recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
McDermott feints a right, and then lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
McDermott feints a cross, and then lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
McDermott hits home with a solid cross.  
McDermott steps away from his opponent and hits home with a firm cross.  
McGuire feints a jab, but McDermott is not fooled and is on target with a left uppercut to McGuire's body.  
McDermott lands a jab, left hook and a cross to his opponents head.  
McDermott lands a straight 1 - 2.  He follows up the attack and lands a jab, overhand right and a cross to his opponents head.  
McDermott feints a right hook, and then lands a stinging overhand right.  
McDermott lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
McDermott steps to the outside and lands an overhand right.  
McGuire advances into close range and walks his opponent onto the ropes.  McDermott lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  McDermott clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, McDermott pushes his forearm into McGuire's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  McGuire quickly recovers. 
McDermott tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a sharp jab.  
McGuire is looking to close the distance.  McDermott lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  McGuire quickly recovers. 
McDermott steps away from his opponent.  McDermott lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  McGuire tries to land an overhand left, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a telling cross.  MCGUIRE WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  McGuire almost instantly gets his legs back. 
McDermott DETONATES a SAVAGE overhand left on his opponents face.  IT LOOKS LIKE MCGUIRE WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  McGuire quickly recovers. 
McDermott lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
McDermott lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
McDermott lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
McDermott feints a left hook, and then lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
McDermott feints a right hook, and then is on target with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McGuire's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  McGuire's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

McGuire closes the distance.  McDermott pivots to the side of his opponent and digs in a left uppercut to McGuire's ribs.  
McDermott is looking to keep his distance and hits home with a stinging overhand left.  
McDermott is on target with a jab.  
McDermott feints a cross, and then lands a sharp jab.  
McDermott lands a straight 1 - 2.  
McDermott tries to keep the action at long range and finds the target with a sharp jab.  
McDermott feints a cross, and then lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
McGuire advances into close range and forces McDermott to back into the ropes.  McDermott lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT! McDermott steps away from his opponent.  McDermott is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  McDermott lands a mean left uppercut.  MCGUIRE IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 9.  
McDermott connects with a FIERCE right uppercut.  MCGUIRE HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  HE MAKES IT TO ONE KNEE, BUT IS UNABLE TO RISE ANY FURTHER AS THE REF COUNTS 10!  The winner by KO is McDermott!
