Xaver Melchor vs Alejandro Mesa

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Boxing promoted show at Pedro Elias Belisario Aponte, Maracaibo,  taking place on 25/06/2044:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the South American Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Xaver Melchor (12(11) - 1) who hails from Caracas, Venezuela and Real Americano Alejandro Mesa(65(37) - 24(20) - 1) from Montevideo, Uruguay.  Both Melchor and Mesa weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Reynaldo Cortinas, and the three ringside judges are Hilario Florian, Alejandro Blando and Quinto Corzo.  

Round 1:
