Michael Starrett vs Jay Pearce

Boxing Daily Report from the Shima-Enaga promoted show at Shima-Enaga Gym, Nassau,  taking place on 13/08/2044:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Michael Starrett (7 - 0) who hails from Nassau, Bahamas and Jay Pearce(0 - 5 - 1) from Nassau, Bahamas.  Both Starrett and Pearce weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Paul Turner, and the three ringside judges are Glynn Acker, Peter Manatt and Matt Blackwood.  

Round 1: 

Starrett snaps his opponents head back with a ramrod jab.  
Pearce steps to the outside.  Starrett quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.  
Starrett gets on the inside and hits home with a right hook.  Starrett ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Starrett pushes his forearm into Pearce's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Starrett to stop fouling.

Starrett quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a cross to his opponents body.

Starrett walks Pearce down, trapping him on the ropes.  Starrett attempts to land a left hook, but Pearce blocks the shot and counters with a cross.

Starrett gets on the inside.  Pearce pivots to the right of his opponent.  Pearce throws a right hook, but Starrett clinches his opponent.  Starrett leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Starrett's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Pearce's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Pearce's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
