Brigham Duchesnay vs Sam Kirkland

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Colisee de Quebec, Quebec City,  taking place on 23/07/2044:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Brigham Duchesnay (9(7) - 0) who hails from Laval, Canada and Sam Kirkland(1 - 0 - 1) from Burnaby, Canada.  Both Duchesnay and Kirkland weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Johnny Smith, and the three ringside judges are Jasper Kopa, Mark Mostyn and Tujan Racine.  

Round 1: 

Duchesnay advances into close range.  Duchesnay sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a sharp left hook to Kirkland's ribs.  
Duchesnay lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Duchesnay holds on to his opponent.  Duchesnay pushes his forearm into Kirkland's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Duchesnay about fouling.  
Duchesnay attempts to land a jab, but Kirkland slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Duchesnay closes the distance and is on target with a solid left uppercut.  Duchesnay clinches his opponent.  Duchesnay leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Duchesnay's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Duchesnay steps inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Duchesnay attempts to land a left hook, but Kirkland blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  Kirkland almost instantly recovers.

Duchesnay connects with a left uppercut.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Duchesnay.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Duchesnay lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Duchesnay holds on to his opponent.  Duchesnay is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Duchesnay whips in a spiteful left hook to Kirkland's body.  KIRKLAND IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  
Duchesnay gets on the inside and digs in a solid left hook to Kirkland's ribs.  
Duchesnay lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Duchesnay lands a sharp right uppercut.  Duchesnay clinches his opponent.  Duchesnay is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Duchesnay's hold and signals for the fight to continue.
