Ciaran McCaig vs Darragh Maguire

Boxing Daily Report from the HONEYPUNCH promoted show at Galway Sportsgrounds, Galway,  taking place on 20/08/2044:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Irish Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on RET One, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Ciaran McCaig (29(20) - 6(4)) who hails from Dublin, Ireland and Darragh Maguire(12 - 7(5)) from Dublin, Ireland.  Both McCaig and Maguire weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Oisin Coughlan, and the three ringside judges are Jordan Byrnes, Jordan Byrnes and Paul Mahoney.  

Round 1: 

McCaig closes the distance.  Maguire lands a left hook.  
McCaig steps inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Maguire throws a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a stinging cross.  
McCaig lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.

McCaig sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Maguire attempts to land a left hook, but McCaig slips the shot and counters with a right hook.

Maguire tries to keep the action at long range.  McCaig thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Maguire away.  McCaig lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, KNOCKING MAGUIRE DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  
It looks like Maguire has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
McCaig advances into close range.  Maguire pivots to the side of his opponent.  Maguire attempts to land a left uppercut, but McCaig dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as McCaig dabs at his face checking for damage.
