Martijn Moolman vs John Verwoerd

Boxing Daily Report from the African Boxing Kingdom promoted show at Athlone Stadium, Cape Town,  taking place on 31/08/2044:

Clearly African Boxing Kingdom have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the Southern African Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Martijn Moolman (25(18) - 2(2)) who hails from Soshanguve, South Africa and John Verwoerd(5(1) - 2(1)) from East London, South Africa.  Moolman weighed in at 129 pounds and 10 ounces, while Verwoerd weighed in at 129 pounds and 5 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Bongi Rantie, and the three ringside judges are La Vonn Dorkenoo, Runako Mashaba and Useni Mfeketho.  

Round 1: 

Moolman closes the distance.  Moolman sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Moolman attempts to land a right hook, but Verwoerd slips the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Moolman has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused swelling  around the left eye.

Moolman manouvers Verwoerd into the corner.  Moolman pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head.

Moolman gets on the inside.  Moolman quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a potent right hook to Verwoerd's ribs.  VERWOERD WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Moolman is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Moolman lands three consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND DROPS VERWOERD TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  It looks like Verwoerd has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.

Verwoerd is on target with a sharp right hook.  
Moolman lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Moolman lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  He then lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Verwoerd recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Moolman cuts off the ring, trapping Verwoerd on the ropes.  Moolman lands a right hook.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Verwoerd's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Verwoerd's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Verwoerd's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Moolman sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Moolman attempts to land a jab, but Verwoerd parries the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Verwoerd walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Verwoerd tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Moolman tries to land a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Verwoerd manages to force Moolman onto the ropes.  Verwoerd hits home with a cross.  Verwoerd throws a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Moolman attempts to land a jab, but Verwoerd sidesteps and counters with a left hook.
