Jack Bird vs Steven Morison

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Bell Centre, Montreal,  taking place on 01/10/2044:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Canada Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Super Channel, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jack Bird (16(12) - 1(1)) who hails from Calgary, Canada and Steven Morison(12(3) - 2(1)) from Surrey, Canada.  Both Bird and Morison weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Briant Sarraute, and the three ringside judges are Briar Gide, Olier Paradis and Royal Roussel.  

Round 1: 

Bird is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Morison walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Morison is on target with a cross.  
Bird hits home with a firm overhand right.

Bird holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Bird pushes his forearm into Morison's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Morison manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Morison pivots to the side of his opponent.  Bird lands a left hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.  Bird attempts to land a right uppercut, but Morison blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Bird tries to step out of his opponents range and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Bird lands a jab.  Bird throws a left hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a sharp right hook.  
Bird tries to step out of his opponents range and hits home with a cross.  
Bird lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Morison quickly recovers. 
Morison feints a cross, and then is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Bird's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Morison's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Bird tries to keep the action at long range and finds the target with a jab.  
Bird connects with a SAVAGE overhand right.  MORISON WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Morison recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Bird hits home with a firm cross.  
Bird tries to land a cross, but Morison sidesteps and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Bird SLAMS a CRUSHING cross into his opponents face.  MORISON IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 4.
