Yavuz Arikan vs Nico Branca

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Boxing promoted show at Max Schmeling Halle, Berlin,  taking place on 23/07/2044:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Yavuz Arikan (17(17) - 0) who hails from Ankara, Turkey and Nico Branca(7 - 2) from Monza, Italy.  Both Arikan and Branca weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Barret Arbogast, and the three ringside judges are Maynard Gelsinger, Dearg Ahrens and Diedrick Beyers.  

Round 1: 

Arikan walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Arikan lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Arikan gets on the inside and crashes a spiteful right hook to his opponents body.  BRANCA WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Branca almost instantly recovers. 
Branca throws a right hook, but Arikan ties up his opponent.  Arikan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Arikan.  
Branca throws a right uppercut, but Arikan clinches his opponent.  Arikan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Arikan drives a firm left hook into his opponents body.  Arikan ties up his opponent.  Arikan leans on his opponent using all his weight. Arikan throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. 
Arikan lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  He continues the combination and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Arikan sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Branca throws a left uppercut, but Arikan ties up his opponent.  Arikan leans on his opponent using all his weight. Arikan uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Branca's kidney. The ref breaks Arikan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Arikan hits home with a solid right hook.  
Arikan drives a solid left hook into his opponents body.  
Arikan gets on the inside and attempts to land a right hook, but Branca parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Arikan is on target with a sharp right hook to Branca's ribcage.  
Branca steps away from his opponent.  Branca feints a cross, but Arikan is not fooled and lands with a solid left uppercut.  
Arikan steps inside.  Branca throws a left uppercut, but the shot is blocked.  Arikan ties up his opponent.  Arikan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Arikan tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Branca's kidney. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Arikan.  
Branca sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Branca attempts to land a left hook, but Arikan blocks the shot and counters with a firm left hook.  
Arikan advances into close range and hits home with a stinging left hook.  
Branca steps to the outside.  Arikan lands a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Branca's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.

Arikan steps inside.  Arikan digs in a sharp right uppercut to his opponents body.  As Arikan tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Branca dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Arikan is on target with a solid right hook to Branca's ribcage.  Arikan attempts to land a left hook, but Branca blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Arikan is looking to close the distance and drives a right hook into his opponents ribcage.  
Arikan drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Arikan closes the distance and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Branca quickly recovers. 
Branca quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Arikan lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Arikan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Arikan lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Arikan holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Branca pushes his forearm into Arikan's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Branca about fouling.  
Arikan lands three consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents body.  
Arikan lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Branca almost instantly recovers.

Branca tries to keep the action at long range.  Arikan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Arikan advances into close range.  Branca tries to land a left hook, but Arikan slips the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Arikan digs in a solid left hook to his opponents body.  
Arikan drives a right hook into Branca's ribcage.  
Arikan lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Arikan attempts to land a right hook, but Branca blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Arikan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  As Branca tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Arikan dabs at his face checking for damage.  Branca now seems to have his senses back.  
Branca throws a right hook, but Arikan clinches his opponent.  Arikan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Arikan uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Branca's kidney. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Arikan feints a left hook, and then lands a right hook to the body, a jab to the head and a cross to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Branca quickly recovers. 
Arikan digs in a sharp left hook to Branca's body.  
Arikan gets on the inside and DETONATES a VICIOUS left hook on his opponents face.  IT LOOKS LIKE BRANCA WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Branca quickly recovers. 
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Branca's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Branca's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Branca's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Arikan feints a cross, tricking Branca into launching a right uppercut counter.  Arikan avoids the shot and counters with a sharp right uppercut.  
Branca pivots to the right of his opponent.  Branca attempts to land a cross, but Arikan sidesteps and counters with a spiteful left hook to Branca's liver.  BRANCA WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Branca recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Arikan steps inside and crashes a mean right hook to Branca's ribcage.  IT LOOKS LIKE BRANCA WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Branca could be stopped here, if Arikan can find the right shot!  Arikan lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right uppercut to the body, AND SENDS BRANCA SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 9.  
Arikan lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND BRANCA IS DOWN!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Arikan!
