Matthew Kelly vs Paul Keane

Boxing Daily Report from the James Stone promoted show at Ireland-Connacht Gym, Galway,  taking place on 25/09/2044:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Irish-Connacht Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Matthew Kelly (8(5) - 5(3)) who hails from Galway, Ireland and Paul Keane(25 - 16(10)) from Sligo, Ireland.  Both Kelly and Keane weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Chris Carroll, and the three ringside judges are Ross Fitzgerald, Paul Mahoney and Fionn Madden.  

Round 1: 

Kelly lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Kelly tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Keane steps to the outside.  Kelly lands a cross, jab and an overhand right to his opponents head.  
Keane attempts to land a cross, but Kelly sidesteps and counters with a solid cross.  
Kelly drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Keane lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Keane gets on the inside.  Kelly tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Kelly hits home with an overhand right.  
Keane tries to step out of his opponents range.  Kelly hits home with a solid cross.  
Kelly steps away from his opponent and is on target with a stinging cross.  
Kelly sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Kelly tries to land a cross, but Keane slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Kelly tries to step out of his opponents range.  Keane lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Keane steps inside.  Keane pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Kelly quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Kelly lands a firm cross.  
Keane advances into close range and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Keane pivots to the side of his opponent.  Kelly connects with a stinging left hook.  
Keane tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Keane's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.

Kelly tries to keep the action at long range and is on target with a cross.  
Keane finds the target with a jab.  
Keane is looking to close the distance.  Kelly drives a stinging left hook into Keane's body.  
Keane hits home with a cross.  
Keane advances into close range.  Keane quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Keane is on target with a right hook.  Keane tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Kelly is looking to keep the action on the outside and strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Keane gets on the inside.  Kelly lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kelly is looking to keep his distance and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Keane advances into close range.  Keane quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Kelly lands a firm left hook.  Kelly wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Keane has been damaged by the clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Keane gets on the inside.  Keane leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Kelly is whaling away with hooks, but Keane keeps his defence tight.  Kelly lands a right hook.  
Kelly tries to keep the action at long range and lands two consecutive overhand lefts to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Keane almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Keane is looking to close the distance.  Kelly attempts to land a right hook, but Keane blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Kelly is looking to keep the action on the outside and hits home with a cross.  Kelly throws a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Keane tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Kelly hits home with an overhand left.  
Kelly digs in a left hook to Keane's body.  
Kelly DETONATES a mean cross on his opponents face.  KEANE IS HURT!  
Keane gets on the inside.  Kelly senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Kelly lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head, AND KEANE IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  Keane now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Kelly goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action and gives Keane time to recover.  
Keane lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Kelly throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Keane attempts to land a jab, but Kelly slips the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Kelly lands a cross, overhand left and a cross to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Keane steps inside.  Keane could be stopped here, if Kelly can find the right shot!  Kelly lands a left uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head, KNOCKING KEANE DOWN!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Kelly!
