Joseph Makata vs Faisal Zaidi

Boxing Daily Report from the African Boxing Kingdom promoted show at Yaoundé Multipurpose Sports Complex, Yaoundé,  taking place on 18/09/2044:

Clearly African Boxing Kingdom have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Joseph Makata (0 - 0) who hails from Durban, South Africa and Faisal Zaidi(10 - 13(1) - 7) from Accra, Ghana.  Both Makata and Zaidi weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Percival Beger, and the three ringside judges are Paris Bong, Marin Mbuta and Leverett Baga.  

Round 1: 

Zaidi tries to step out of his opponents range.  Makata lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Makata lands a cross, jab and a cross to his opponents head.  
Makata steps inside.  Makata sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Makata digs in a right hook to Zaidi's body.  Makata holds on to his opponent.  Makata is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Makata to stop fouling.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Zaidi dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Makata tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Zaidi forces Makata to back into the ropes.  Makata drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Makata lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Makata hits home with a stinging overhand right.  
Makata is looking to keep his distance and attempts to land a jab, but Zaidi sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Makata lands an overhand left to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Makata lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Makata senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Zaidi and just needs the right shot.  Makata lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  He then lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS ZAIDI DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  
Makata steps inside.  Makata SLAMS a FIERCE left uppercut into his opponents face.  ZAIDI IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  Zaidi now seems to have his senses back.  
Makata steps away from his opponent and lands a jab.  
Zaidi is on target with a left uppercut.  
Zaidi steps to the outside.  Makata hits home with a stinging cross.  
Zaidi pivots from in front of his opponent.  Makata hits home with a solid jab.  
Makata tries to step out of his opponents range and is on target with a VICIOUS overhand right.  IT LOOKS LIKE ZAIDI WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Zaidi's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Zaidi's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Zaidi's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Round 2: 

Makata advances into close range and lands a left uppercut to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Makata clinches his opponent.  Zaidi tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Makata behind the head. Makata is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Makata's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  Zaidi quickly recovers. 
Makata switches the action to the outside and finds the target with a jab.  
Makata lands a BRUTAL cross.  IT LOOKS LIKE ZAIDI WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Zaidi recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Makata lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Zaidi tries to step out of his opponents range.  Makata feints a left, and then lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Makata lands a jab.  
Makata steps to the outside.  Makata feints a left, and then lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
Makata is on target with a stinging cross to Zaidi's body.  
Makata feints a jab, but Zaidi ignores the feint and lands with a left hook.  
Makata connects with a solid cross.  
Makata lands a solid cross.  
Makata steps inside and lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Makata ties up his opponent.  Makata leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Makata tries to keep the action at long range.  Makata is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Makata lands consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents body, AND DROPS ZAIDI TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  
Makata lands a nasty right uppercut.  ZAIDI IS DOWN!  HE IS UNABLE TO GET UP BEFORE THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Makata!
