Ethan Kendrick vs John Speirs

Boxing Daily Report from the GB Promotions promoted show at Dai Magie Gym, London,  taking place on 18/10/2044:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the British-Southern England Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ethan Kendrick (2 - 11 - 2) who hails from London, UK and John Speirs(7 - 3 - 1) from Luton, UK.  Kendrick weighed in at 154 pounds, while Speirs weighed in at 155 pounds and 3 ounces.    As Speirs came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Blake Mosman, and the three ringside judges are Barry Coleman, Mick Salton and Alec Malraux.  

Round 1: 

Kendrick connects with a cross.  
Speirs is on target with a left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Speirs lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kendrick attempts to land a jab, but Speirs sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Kendrick steps to the outside.  Kendrick quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
Kendrick advances into close range and attempts to land a right hook, but Speirs sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Speirs is on target with a left uppercut.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Kendrick dabs at his face checking for damage.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Kendrick's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Speirs's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.
