Ibrahim Firoud vs Jay Nkolola

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Boxing promoted show at Athlone Stadium, Cape Town,  taking place on 19/11/2044:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the African Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on M-Net, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Ibrahim Firoud (11(9) - 4 - 3) who hails from Algiers, Algeria and Jay Nkolola(27(21) - 14(14)) from Lusaka, Zambia.  Both Firoud and Nkolola weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Runako Mashaba, and the three ringside judges are Colin Ntuli, Colin Ntuli and Musa Zwane.  

Round 1: 

Firoud is on target with a stinging left hook.  
Nkolola hits home with a right hook.  
Firoud tries to keep the action at long range and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Firoud lands an overhand right.  
Nkolola attempts to land a jab, but Firoud dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Firoud throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Firoud steps away from his opponent and attempts to land a jab, but Nkolola blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Nkolola manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Nkolola sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Firoud lands a left hook.

Nkolola tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Firoud behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Nkolola about fouling.

Firoud switches the action to the outside and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  Firoud attempts to land a jab, but Nkolola sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Nkolola walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Nkolola tries to land a right hook, but Firoud sidesteps and counters with a stinging cross.  
Firoud is looking to keep his distance and lands with a stiff jab.  
Nkolola lands a cross followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Firoud is looking to close the distance.  Nkolola throws a right hook, but Firoud clinches his opponent.  Nkolola hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. Firoud pushes his forearm into Nkolola's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Firoud is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Nkolola attempts to land a jab, but Firoud slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Firoud lands a stinging cross.  
Firoud switches the action to the outside and lands an overhand left followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Nkolola finds the target with a jab.

Nkolola forces Firoud to retreat onto the ropes.  Firoud hits home with a sharp cross.  
Nkolola advances into close range.  Nkolola pivots from in front of his opponent.  Firoud lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Firoud clinches his opponent.  Firoud is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Firoud's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Nkolola quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Firoud hits home with a solid cross.  
Firoud lands a left hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Firoud lands a jab to the head, a right hook to the body and a cross to the head.  
Nkolola attempts to land a cross, but Firoud sidesteps and counters with a big cross.  IT LOOKS LIKE NKOLOLA WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Firoud senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Firoud lands a right uppercut followed by  two left uppercuts to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right uppercut, left uppercut and a cross to his opponents head, AND SENDS NKOLOLA TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  Nkolola now seems to have his senses back.  
Firoud digs in a sharp left hook to Nkolola's liver.  
Nkolola closes the distance.  Firoud drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Nkolola walks Firoud down, trapping him on the ropes.  Firoud hits the target with a stiff jab.  
Firoud lands a WICKED cross.  NKOLOLA IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  
Firoud switches the action to the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Nkolola attempts to land a jab, but Firoud sidesteps and counters with a firm cross.  
Nkolola lands with a solid jab.  
Nkolola tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a DEVASTATING left uppercut.  NKOLOLA IS DOWN!  THE REF DOES NOT EVEN BOTHER WITH THE COUNT...HE'S SEEN ENOUGH AND HAS STOPPED THE FIGHT!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Firoud!
