Cody Haig vs John Akin

Boxing Daily Report from the GOAT Promotions promoted show at Lakewood White, Lakewood,  taking place on 06/11/2044:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Colorado Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Cody Haig (10 - 8(3) - 2) who hails from Longmont, USA and John Akin(13 - 14(2) - 4) from Pueblo, USA.  Haig weighed in at 200 pounds and 12 ounces, while Akin weighed in at 199 pounds and 8 ounces.    As Haig came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Noah Keys, and the three ringside judges are Glynn Wardrop, Denton Kellis and Declan Patterson.  

Round 1:

Akin advances into close range and forces Haig to back into the corner.  Akin connects with a left hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Akin dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Akin feints a right hook, but Haig is not fooled and lands with a cross.

Akin steps inside.  Akin quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Haig lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.
