Gregor Watters vs Paul Payne

Boxing Daily Report from the Leprechaun Promotions promoted show at St Kevins Hall, Belfast,  taking place on 18/11/2044:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the British-Northern Ireland Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Gregor Watters (6(4) - 0) who hails from Belfast, UK and Paul Payne(4 - 9(4)) from Belfast, UK.  Both Watters and Payne weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Brett Lannon, and the three ringside judges are Cillian Dolan, Daniel Maguire and David Hastie.  

Round 1: 

Watters advances into close range and lands a double left hook to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Watters clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Watters pushes his forearm into Payne's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Watters about fouling.  Payne quickly recovers. 
Watters is looking to close the distance and connects with a solid left hook.  Watters ties up his opponent.  Watters is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Watters is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  Watters ties up his opponent.  Watters leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  Watters tries to land a right hook, but Payne blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Watters steps inside and hits home with a left hook.  
Payne pivots from in front of his opponent.  Payne throws a left hook, but Watters clinches his opponent.  Watters leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Watters's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Watters lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Watters steps inside and hits home with a firm left hook.  
Payne is looking to keep his distance.  Watters lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Watters sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  Watters lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS PAYNE DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  It looks like Payne has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Watters gets on the inside and lands a firm left hook.  
Payne is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Watters lands a stinging cross.  
Watters steps inside and lands a left hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Watters lands a right uppercut followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Watters lands a sharp right hook.  
Watters lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Watters walks his opponent down, trapping him in the red corner.  Watters digs in a sharp right hook to his opponents body.  
Watters lands a FEARSOME left uppercut.  PAYNE WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Watters throws a left uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  Payne almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Watters lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Watters is on target with a BRUTAL right uppercut.  IT LOOKS LIKE PAYNE WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Watters ties up his opponent.  Watters is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Watters about fouling.  Payne recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Watters hits home with a right hook.  
Watters sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Payne tries to land a right hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Watters lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Watters forces Payne to back into the red corner.  Watters hits home with a firm left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Payne's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Payne's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.
