Leighton Weatherly vs Edward Curran

Boxing Daily Report from the FightArama promoted show at Alpine Energy Stadium, Christchurch,  taking place on 07/01/2045:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the Oceania Minimumweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TV One, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Leighton Weatherly (14(13) - 2(2)) who hails from Christchurch, New Zealand and Edward Curran(11 - 11(1) - 1) from Sydney, Australia.  Weatherly weighed in at 104 pounds and 15 ounces, while Curran weighed in at 105 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Clint Cattell, and the three ringside judges are Ian Fergerson, Corey Stobie and Gareth Young.  

Round 1: 

Weatherly sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a cross.
