David Ward vs Ethan Donnell

Boxing Daily Report from the puppybundy promoted show at Josh Tonner Gym, Sydney,  taking place on 18/12/2044:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Australia-New South Wales Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are David Ward (11(7) - 0) who hails from Sydney, Australia and Ethan Donnell(5 - 8 - 4) from Sydney, Australia.  Ward weighed in at 175 pounds, while Donnell weighed in at 175 pounds and 11 ounces.    As Donnell came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Ethan Smillie, and the three ringside judges are Lee Fabian, Arnie Lipton and Joshua Dinas.  

Round 1: 

Ward connects with a stinging left hook.  Ward ties up his opponent.  Ward pushes his forearm into Donnell's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Donnell steps inside.  Ward lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Ward holds on to his opponent.  Ward is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Ward to stop fouling.  
Donnell advances into close range.  Ward pivots from in front of his opponent.  Ward lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Ward holds on to his opponent.  Ward leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Ward's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Donnell walks Ward down, trapping him on the ropes.  Ward lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Ward lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Ward holds on to his opponent.  Ward leans on his opponent using all his weight. Ward hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref breaks Ward's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Ward is looking to close the distance.  Ward pivots to the right of his opponent.  Ward lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Ward ties up his opponent.  Ward leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Ward's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  Ward wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Donnell dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Ward is on target with a jab.  
Ward is looking to close the distance.  Ward leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Donnell accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Ward.  
Donnell gets on the inside.  Ward connects with a solid left hook.  
Ward gets on the inside and lands a stinging right uppercut.  
Ward is looking to close the distance and connects with a firm right hook.  
Ward is looking to keep his distance and hits home with a solid cross.  
Ward steps inside and is on target with a right hook.  
Ward lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  He then lands two left uppercut's to the head followed by a right hook to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Donnell almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Ward lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands two right hook's to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Ward lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Donnell's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Donnell's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Donnell's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Round 2: 

Ward tries to keep the action at long range and attempts to land a cross, but Donnell dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Ward lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  Donnell wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ward dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Ward lands a left uppercut to the head, a right hook to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  
Ward closes the distance and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Ward lands a sharp right hook.  Ward holds on to his opponent.  Ward tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Donnell's kidney. Ward tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Donnell behind the head. 
Ward lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head, DROPPING DONNELL TO THE CANVAS!  He tries to rise but his legs dont respond...the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Ward!
