Phil Spang vs Ollie McQuillan

Boxing Daily Report from the Brenin Promotions promoted show at Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre, Bournemouth,  taking place on 27/02/2045:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Phil Spang (5(2) - 1(1)) who hails from Birmingham, UK and Ollie McQuillan(1 - 2 - 1) from London, UK.  Both Spang and McQuillan weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Lucas McSorley, and the three ringside judges are Ali Parsa, Rob Heriot and Clinton Wight.  

Round 1: 

Spang is looking to close the distance.  McQuillan throws a left hook, but Spang clinches his opponent.  Spang leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Spang lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Spang digs in a left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Spang hits home with a solid jab.  
Spang advances into close range and lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Spang pivots to the side of his opponent.  Spang tries to land a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Spang throws a left hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Spang holds on to his opponent.  Spang is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
McQuillan throws a left hook, but Spang holds on to his opponent.  Spang leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Spang digs in a solid left hook to McQuillan's body.  
Spang digs in a left hook to McQuillan's body.  
McQuillan tries to land a cross, but Spang sidesteps and counters with a firm right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Spang gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND SENDS MCQUILLAN SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  McQuillan quickly recovers. 
Spang steps inside.  McQuillan tries to land a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Spang forces McQuillan to back into a corner.  Spang quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Spang lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McQuillan's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  McQuillan's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

McQuillan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Spang digs in a left uppercut to McQuillan's body.  
Spang steps inside and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Spang ties up his opponent.  Spang pushes his forearm into McQuillan's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Spang to stop fouling.  
McQuillan switches the action to the outside.  Spang knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  Spang whips in a spiteful right hook to his opponents ribcage.  DOWN GOES MCQUILLAN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  McQuillan now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Spang closes the distance.  McQuillan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Spang lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
McQuillan attempts to land a left hook, but Spang blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Spang quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and drives a cross into McQuillan's body.  
McQuillan is looking to keep his distance.  Spang feints a cross, and then lands a cross.  
Spang pivots to the side of his opponent.  Spang drives a solid right hook into McQuillan's body.  IT LOOKS LIKE MCQUILLAN WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Spang holds on to his opponent.  Spang is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Spang's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  McQuillan recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Spang manouvers McQuillan into the red corner.  Spang lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Spang connects with a sharp right hook.  
Spang gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Spang closes the distance.  McQuillan lands a left uppercut.  
Spang drives a firm left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Spang steps inside and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Spang feints a jab, fooling McQuillan into launching a right hook counter.  Spang springs the trap, countering with  a firm right hook.  
Spang lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Spang holds on to his opponent.  Spang leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Spang lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Spang drives a sharp left uppercut into his opponents ribs.  IT LOOKS LIKE MCQUILLAN WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...McQuillan's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Spang tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits McQuillan behind the head. Spang pushes his forearm into McQuillan's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Spang to stop fouling.  
At the end of Round 3, lets listen in on the corners...McQuillan's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Spang cuts off the ring, trapping McQuillan on the ropes.  Spang knows McQuillan is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Spang lands a right uppercut to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body, AND DROPS MCQUILLAN TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  It looks like McQuillan has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Spang lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  McQuillan quickly recovers. 
Spang digs in a sharp right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
McQuillan is looking to keep his distance and attempts to land a jab, but Spang sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Spang is on target with a stinging right hook.  
Spang walks McQuillan down, trapping him in the blue corner.  Spang lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Spang lands a right uppercut to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the body, AND DOWN GOES MCQUILLAN!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  
Spang lands a sharp cross.

Spang lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Spang lands a left hook.  
Spang advances into close range and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Spang drives a stinging left hook into his opponents liver.  
Spang drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Spang closes the distance and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
It looks like McQuillan has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.

Spang gets on the inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES MCQUILLAN!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Spang!
