Tariq Majeed vs Paul Kalungi

Boxing Daily Report from the Manyama Promotions promoted show at Kampala Lumolo, Kampala,  taking place on 16/01/2045:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Uganda Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on UTV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Tariq Majeed (6 - 12(1) - 3) who hails from Kampala, Uganda and Paul Kalungi(3(1) - 0) from Kampala, Uganda.  Both Majeed and Kalungi weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Vandwon Nakulima, and the three ringside judges are Amer Allee, Polo Kayonga and Felix Makubuya.  

Round 1: 

Kalungi gets on the inside.  Kalungi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and drives a firm right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Kalungi pivots to the side of his opponent.  Majeed throws a left hook, but Kalungi holds on to his opponent.  Kalungi is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Kalungi pushes Majeedoff to escape the clinch.  
Kalungi lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.

Kalungi lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.

Kalungi switches the action to the outside.  Kalungi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Majeed hits home with a cross.  
Kalungi manages to force Majeed into the corner.  Kalungi pivots to the side of his opponent and digs in a right hook to Majeed's ribcage.  
Kalungi steps inside and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Kalungi is looking to close the distance.  Kalungi sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a firm right hook.  
Kalungi forces Majeed to back into the red corner.  Kalungi lands a left uppercut to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  
Kalungi lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.

Majeed closes the distance.  Kalungi pivots to the side of his opponent and digs in a stinging right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Majeed finds the target with a jab.  
Majeed closes the distance.  Kalungi is on target with a forceful left hook to his opponents body.  MAJEED WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Majeed almost instantly recovers. 
Kalungi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a stinging left hook.

The referee warns Kalungi and breaks the clinch.

Kalungi gets on the inside.  Majeed attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Kalungi's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Kalungi lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Majeed quickly recovers. 
Kalungi lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kalungi is on target with a sharp right hook to his opponents body.  
Kalungi lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He then lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body, AND MAJEED IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.

The ref breaks Kalungi's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Kalungi dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Kalungi.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.
