Ethan Duane vs Rhys Hughes

Boxing Daily Report from the PP Promotions promoted show at Ice Arena, Cardiff,  taking place on 26/01/2045:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Dave, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Ethan Duane (2(2) - 0) who hails from Birmingham, UK and Rhys Hughes(11 - 11(3) - 2) from London, UK.  Duane weighed in at 231 pounds and 3 ounces, while Hughes weighed in at 244 pounds and 7 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Griffith Batton, and the three ringside judges are Joshua Gillespie, Glyn Bowen and Mark Shedden.  

Round 1: 

Hughes tries to land a cross, but Duane sidesteps and counters with a firm right uppercut.  
Duane walks Hughes into a corner.  Duane lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Duane holds on to his opponent.  Duane is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Duane.  
Duane lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Duane lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Hughes quickly recovers. 
Duane lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND KNOCKS HUGHES DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Duane clinches his opponent.  Duane leans on his opponent using all his weight. Duane hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  Hughes quickly recovers. 
Hughes steps to the outside and attempts to land a jab, but Duane slips the shot and counters with a solid right hook.  
Duane is looking to close the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Duane lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Duane closes the distance and lands a sharp left hook.  Duane holds on to his opponent.  Duane is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Duane lands a firm left uppercut.  Duane ties up his opponent.  Duane uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Hughes behind the head. The ref breaks Duane's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Duane hits home with a spiteful jab.  
Duane feints a cross, tricking Hughes into launching a left uppercut counter.  Duane springs the trap, countering with  a solid cross.  
Duane is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Duane lands a jab followed by  two straights to his opponents head.  
Duane is looking to close the distance and drives a left hook into Hughes's body.  
Duane is looking to close the distance and is on target with a forceful left hook to Hughes's liver.  HUGHES IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
Duane quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a stinging left hook to Hughes's body.  
Duane drives a left hook into his opponents body.  As Hughes tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Duane dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Duane drives a firm left hook into his opponents ribs.  HUGHES IS HURT!  Hughes almost instantly recovers. 
Duane lands with a sharp jab.  
Duane advances into close range and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Duane lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Duane advances into close range and hits home with a stinging left uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Hughes's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Hughes's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Hughes's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Hughes is looking to keep his distance and throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Duane gets on the inside and drives a left hook into his opponents body.  Duane clinches his opponent.  Duane uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Hughes's kidney. The ref separates the two fighters.  Duane tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Duane sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the body, AND HUGHES IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  Hughes almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Duane pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Hughes recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Duane sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a sharp left hook into his opponents ribs.  
Duane lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Duane pivots to the left of his opponent.  Hughes throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Duane closes the distance.  Hughes throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Duane walks Hughes onto the ropes.  Duane lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Duane whips in a hurtful left uppercut to Hughes's liver.  HUGHES IS DOWN!  He manages to get up at 5.  Hughes now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Duane throws a left uppercut, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Duane clinches his opponent.  Duane leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Duane closes the distance and hits home with a sharp left hook.  
Duane drives a telling left hook into Hughes's body.  HUGHES IS HURT!  Hughes almost instantly recovers. 
Duane sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a firm left hook into Hughes's ribs.  
Duane closes the distance and EXPLODES a WICKED right hook into his opponents face.  HUGHES WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Hughes almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Duane is on target with a left hook to Hughes's body.  
Hughes steps to the outside and attempts to land a jab, but Duane blocks the shot and counters with a stinging right uppercut.  
Duane steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND HUGHES IS DOWN!  The ref does not even bother with the count...he's seen enough!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Duane!
