Bart Quirke vs John Carmody

Boxing Daily Report from the PP Promotions promoted show at Bradford Ice Arena, Bradford,  taking place on 25/02/2045:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Bart Quirke (1 - 0) who hails from Plymouth, UK and John Carmody(5 - 8 - 3) from London, UK.  Both Quirke and Carmody weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Billy Ireland, and the three ringside judges are Iain Clark, Matthew McAlister and Dale Watkins.  

Round 1: 

Carmody gets on the inside.  Quirke pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.  
Quirke sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Quirke lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Quirke ties up his opponent.  Quirke is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Quirke lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Quirke clinches his opponent.  Quirke is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. As they grapple, Quirke pushes his forearm into Carmody's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Quirke.  
Quirke pivots to the right of his opponent.  Quirke lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Quirke ties up his opponent.  Quirke leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Carmody closes the distance.  Quirke pivots to the right of his opponent and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Quirke pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a firm left hook.  Carmody wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Quirke dabs at his face checking for damage.  Quirke has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Carmody manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Quirke lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Quirke is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Quirke ties up his opponent.  Quirke leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Quirke steps inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Quirke cuts off the ring, trapping Carmody in the corner.  Quirke is on target with a jab.  
Carmody gets on the inside.  Quirke pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook, right hook and a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Quirke lands two left hook's to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  Quirke holds on to his opponent.  Quirke leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Carmody lands a left hook.  
Quirke gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the body.  Quirke ties up his opponent.  The ref breaks Quirke's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Quirke voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Carmody steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  
Carmody is looking to close the distance.  Carmody pivots to the side of his opponent.  Quirke lands a firm right hook.  
Quirke drives a jab into his opponents body.  
Quirke advances into close range and digs in a firm left hook to his opponents liver.  
Quirke lands a jab to Carmody's body.  
Quirke steps inside.  Carmody attempts to land a right hook, but Quirke sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Carmody's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Carmody's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Carmody's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Quirke drives a sharp jab into his opponents face.  
Quirke is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Carmody tries to land a right hook, but Quirke sidesteps and counters with a sharp left uppercut to Carmody's body.  
Quirke closes the distance and is on target with a right hook.  
Quirke gets on the inside and attempts to land a left hook, but Carmody blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Carmody sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Quirke lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Quirke dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Quirke hits home with a right hook.  
Quirke drives a left uppercut into his opponents liver.  
Quirke drives a solid jab into his opponents face.  
Carmody steps inside.  Quirke lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Quirke closes the distance.  Carmody sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Quirke lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Carmody now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Quirke connects with a left uppercut.  
Quirke is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by two left hook's to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Carmody recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Quirke drives a right uppercut into his opponents body.  
Quirke throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Quirke lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Carmody quickly recovers. 
Quirke throws a left hook, but the shot is blocked.  Quirke clinches his opponent.  Quirke leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Quirke gets on the inside and lands a right uppercut followed by  two left uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Quirke is looking to close the distance and lands a firm left hook.  
Quirke hits home with a solid left uppercut.

Quirke closes the distance and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He then lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right uppercut to the head.  
Carmody steps inside.  Quirke lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Quirke lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Quirke connects with a BRUTAL left uppercut.  CARMODY WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
The right shot from Quirke could be enough to force the stoppage!  Quirke lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a right uppercut to the head, AND CARMODY IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 6.  
Quirke is on target with a spiteful right uppercut.  CARMODY IS DOWN!  HE ISNT GOING TO BEAT THE COUNT!  The winner by KO is Quirke!
