Jose Gloria vs James McCorkell

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Auditorio Nacional, Mexico City,  taking place on 11/03/2045:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Jose Gloria (8(6) - 0) who hails from Leon, Mexico and James McCorkell(1 - 1(1)) from Boston, USA.  Both Gloria and McCorkell weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Angel Salamanca, and the three ringside judges are Oro Peron, Ponce Lugo and Francisco Balcazar.  

Round 1: 

McCorkell pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a cross to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Gloria steps inside and digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
McCorkell pivots to the left of his opponent.  McCorkell throws a left uppercut, but Gloria holds on to his opponent.  McCorkell pushes his forearm into Gloria's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns McCorkell.  
McCorkell hits home with a right hook.  Gloria ties up his opponent.  McCorkell tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Gloria behind the head. McCorkell uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Gloria behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures McCorkell about fouling.  
Gloria forces McCorkell to back into the red corner.  Gloria lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Gloria holds on to his opponent.  Gloria pushes his forearm into McCorkell's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Gloria lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  McCorkell recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Gloria lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.

McCorkell tries to keep the action at long range.  Gloria lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  Gloria attempts to land an overhand right, but McCorkell parries the shot and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
McCorkell switches the action to the outside.  Gloria lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Gloria closes the distance and is on target with a firm left hook.  
Gloria closes the distance and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  McCorkell recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Gloria digs in a sharp left uppercut to his opponents body.  MCCORKELL IS HURT!  McCorkell recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Gloria manouvers McCorkell onto the ropes.  Gloria is on target with a firm left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Gloria lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Gloria lands a left hook to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Gloria closes the distance and is on target with a powerful left hook to McCorkell's body.  MCCORKELL IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
Gloria slams a spiteful left hook into McCorkell's ribs.  MCCORKELL IS HURT!  McCorkell quickly recovers. 
McCorkell tries to step out of his opponents range.  Gloria lands a straight 1 - 2.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McCorkell's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  McCorkell's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  McCorkell's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Gloria steps inside.  McCorkell tries to land a left uppercut, but Gloria dodges the shot and counters with a right hook to McCorkell's ribcage.  
McCorkell is looking to keep his distance.  Gloria tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp right uppercut to Gloria's ribs.  
Gloria advances into close range and lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.
