Stephen Callacghan vs Geoff Horner

Boxing Daily Report from the Brenin Promotions promoted show at Pentwyn Leisure Centre, Cardiff,  taking place on 11/04/2045:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the British-Wales Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Stephen Callacghan (16(14) - 0) who hails from Cardiff, UK and Geoff Horner(3 - 0) from Cardiff, UK.  Both Callacghan and Horner weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Lewys Cooper, and the three ringside judges are Joshua Gillespie, Mark MacNevin and Mark Shedden.  

Round 1: 

Callacghan gets on the inside and is on target with a sharp right hook to his opponents body.  Callacghan ties up his opponent.  Callacghan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Callacghan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Callacghan advances into close range and drives a right hook into his opponents ribcage.  Callacghan clinches his opponent.  Callacghan pushes his forearm into Horner's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Horner throws a left hook, but Callacghan clinches his opponent.  Callacghan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Callacghan about fouling.  
Callacghan gets on the inside and is on target with a sharp left hook to Horner's ribs.  
Horner tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a stinging overhand right.  
Callacghan attempts to land a jab, but Horner blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut to Callacghan's liver.  
Callacghan lands a jab to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Horner manouvers Callacghan onto the ropes.  Callacghan tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Callacghan connects with a solid right hook.  
Horner hits home with a stinging cross.  
Callacghan closes the distance and connects with a left hook.  
Callacghan lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Horner is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Callacghan lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Horner drives a left hook into Callacghan's body.  
Callacghan advances into close range.  Horner throws a right hook, but Callacghan clinches his opponent.  Callacghan leans on his opponent using all his weight. Horner pushes his forearm into Callacghan's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Callacghan attempts to land a left hook, but Horner sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Horner steps away from his opponent.  Horner sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands with a sharp jab.

Callacghan gets on the inside.  Horner pivots to the right of his opponent.  Horner throws a left uppercut, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Callacghan clinches his opponent.  Callacghan uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Horner behind the head. 
Horner feints a cross, and then lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  Horner throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Callacghan lands a spiteful jab.  
As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Callacghan dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Callacghan lands a double left hook to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Horner recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Callacghan lands a left hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Horner drives a left hook into Callacghan's liver.  
Callacghan steps inside and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Callacghan lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Horner quickly recovers. 
Callacghan lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body, AND HORNER IS DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  Callacghan ties up his opponent.  Callacghan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Callacghan's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Horner's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Callacghan walks Horner down, trapping him on the ropes.  Callacghan lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Horner tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.

Callacghan senses Horner is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Callacghan lands a FEARSOME right hook.  DOWN GOES HORNER!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  Horner now seems to have got his legs back.  
Horner is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Callacghan hits home with a sharp overhand right.  
Callacghan advances into close range and is on target with a firm right hook to Horner's ribcage.

Some sustained pressure from Callacghan could be enough to finish Horner!  Callacghan lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  He then lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, DROPPING HORNER TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 7.  
Callacghan DETONATES a MASSIVE right hook on his opponents face.  HORNER IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  HE IS UNABLE TO GET UP BEFORE THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Callacghan!
