Evan McClanahan vs John Dougherty

Boxing Daily Report from the PP Promotions promoted show at City Hall, Belfast,  taking place on 21/10/2045:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Evan McClanahan (3(2) - 0) who hails from Belfast, UK and John Dougherty(3 - 6(1) - 1) from Belfast, UK.  Both McClanahan and Dougherty weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Anthony McCabe, and the three ringside judges are Ian Casey, Daniel Maguire and Brett Lannon.  

Round 1: 

McClanahan connects with a stinging cross.  
McClanahan lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
McClanahan gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
McClanahan is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body.  
McClanahan advances into close range.  McClanahan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a right hook to the body, AND SENDS DOUGHERTY TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  
It looks like Dougherty has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
McClanahan lands a right hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  McClanahan ties up his opponent.  McClanahan pushes his forearm into Dougherty's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns McClanahan.  
Dougherty attempts to land a jab, but McClanahan sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
McClanahan steps inside and walks his opponent down, trapping him in a corner.  McClanahan lands a telling right uppercut.  IT LOOKS LIKE DOUGHERTY WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  McClanahan holds on to his opponent.  McClanahan is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  Dougherty almost instantly gets his legs back. 
McClanahan lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  McClanahan holds on to his opponent.  McClanahan leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks McClanahan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
McClanahan lands a hurtful left hook.  DOUGHERTY IS HURT!  
McClanahan senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Dougherty and just needs the right shot.  McClanahan lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a cross to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook, left hook and a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Dougherty now seems to have got his legs back.  
McClanahan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
McClanahan lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
McClanahan connects with a solid right hook.  
McClanahan closes the distance.  McClanahan pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Dougherty quickly recovers. 
McClanahan lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
McClanahan sidesteps to the left of his opponent andAs Dougherty tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  McClanahan has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused a slight cut in the corner of the right eye.  .  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Dougherty's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Dougherty's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Dougherty's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

McClanahan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and crashes a nasty right hook to his opponents ribcage.  DOUGHERTY IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  
McClanahan lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
McClanahan lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  He then lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Dougherty quickly recovers. 
McClanahan connects with a FEROCIOUS left hook.  DOUGHERTY IS HURT!  
McClanahan thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Dougherty away.  McClanahan lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a cross to the head.  He then lands a left hook, cross and a right hook to his opponents head, KNOCKING DOUGHERTY DOWN!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is McClanahan!
