Ogenyi Akarandut vs Tariq Azam

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Nigeria-FCT promoted show at Sheraton Abuja Hotel, Abuja,  taking place on 02/11/2045:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Nigeria-Kano State Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ogenyi Akarandut (15 - 9 - 1) who hails from Kano, Nigeria and Tariq Azam(11(1) - 0) from Kano, Nigeria.  Both Akarandut and Azam weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Theophilus Igun, and the three ringside judges are John Adeleke, Gbolahan Ogungbure and Ikechukwu Ilori.  

Round 1: 

Azam sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Akarandut dabs at his face checking for damage.  Akarandut has taken some damage there.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.  
Akarandut switches the action to the outside and lands a jab.  
Azam gets on the inside and tries to land a right uppercut, but Akarandut sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Azam lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Azam advances into close range and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Akarandut switches the action to the outside.  Akarandut sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a jab.  
Azam gets on the inside and walks Akarandut down, trapping him in the corner.  Azam lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Azam lands a left hook.  
Azam pivots from in front of his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
Azam steps inside.  Azam pivots to the side of his opponent.  Akarandut throws a right hook, but Azam holds on to his opponent.  Azam pushes his forearm into Akarandut's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Azam is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Azam clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Akarandut pushes his forearm into Azam's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Akarandut about fouling.
