Paul Donohoe vs Ian McNiven

Boxing Daily Report from the PP Promotions promoted show at Plymouth Pavilions, Plymouth,  taking place on 09/12/2045:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Paul Donohoe (8(5) - 0) who hails from London, UK and Ian McNiven(4 - 10(1)) from Edinburgh, UK.  Both Donohoe and McNiven weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Eddie Cour, and the three ringside judges are Hayden Maguire, Nick Fidler and Seth Cassidy.  

Round 1: 

Donohoe gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  He follows up the attack and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Donohoe clinches his opponent.  Donohoe pushes his forearm into McNiven's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Donohoe lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Donohoe holds on to his opponent.  Donohoe leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Donohoe's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Donohoe lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents head.  
Donohoe manouvers his opponent into the blue corner.  Donohoe lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  Donohoe ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Donohoe pushes his forearm into McNiven's face.  The referee warns Donohoe and breaks the clinch.  
Donohoe pivots to the side of his opponent.  McNiven throws a left uppercut, but Donohoe clinches his opponent.  Donohoe leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Donohoe connects with a left hook.  Donohoe ties up his opponent.  Donohoe is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.

McNiven throws a left uppercut, but Donohoe clinches his opponent.  Donohoe leans on his opponent using all his weight. Donohoe tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits McNiven behind the head. The ref breaks Donohoe's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Donohoe sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.

Donohoe DETONATES a spiteful left uppercut on his opponents face.  MCNIVEN WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  McNiven recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Donohoe is on target with a cross.  Donohoe throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McNiven's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  McNiven's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Donohoe lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Donohoe pivots to the right of his opponent and drives a hard jab into his opponents face.  
Donohoe is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Donohoe sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Donohoe manouvers McNiven into a corner.  Donohoe lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.

Donohoe pivots to the right of his opponent and connects with a right uppercut.  
Donohoe quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.

Donohoe lands a BRUTAL right hook.  MCNIVEN IS HURT!  McNiven quickly recovers. 
Donohoe lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Donohoe digs in a solid left hook to his opponents liver.  Donohoe ties up his opponent.  Donohoe leans on his opponent using all his weight. Donohoe tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits McNiven behind the head. The referee breaks up the clinch and lectures Donohoe to stop holding.

Donohoe lands a left hook to the head followed by two right hook's to the body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  McNiven quickly recovers.

Some sustained pressure from Donohoe could be enough to finish McNiven!  Donohoe lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head, AND DROPS MCNIVEN!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  McNiven now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Donohoe lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.

Donohoe DETONATES a VICIOUS right hook on his opponents face.  IT LOOKS LIKE MCNIVEN WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
McNiven now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Donohoe gets on the inside and is on target with a stinging left hook to McNiven's body.  
Donohoe quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Donohoe DETONATES a WICKED left hook on his opponents face.  MCNIVEN IS HURT!  
Donohoe is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Donohoe lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS MCNIVEN DOWN!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Donohoe!
