Colin Groves vs James Redhead

Boxing Daily Report from the Gore Promotions promoted show at TD Gardens, Boston,  taking place on 13/01/2046:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fox Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Colin Groves (25(16) - 2(1)) who hails from Boston, USA and James Redhead(23(6) - 6(4)) from Houston, USA.  Groves weighed in at 111 pounds and 14 ounces, while Redhead weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dave Greenan, and the three ringside judges are Mike Stobie, Fred Reese and Elliot Ogle.  

Round 1: 

Groves steps inside.  Redhead hits home with a left uppercut.  
Groves tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Groves manages to force Redhead onto the ropes.  Groves is on target with a right uppercut.  
Groves steps inside.  Groves quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Redhead connects with a left hook.  
Groves throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Redhead switches the action to the outside.  Groves is on target with a stinging cross.  
Redhead steps away from his opponent.  Redhead quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a solid jab.  
Groves steps inside and lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Groves tries to land a right uppercut, but Redhead sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Groves cuts off the ring, trapping Redhead on the ropes.  Groves throws a right uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Groves is on target with a left hook.  
Groves is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents ribs.  Groves throws a right uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Groves lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Groves drives a left hook into Redhead's body.  
Groves throws a right uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a solid cross.  
Groves walks Redhead onto the ropes.  Groves hits home with a right hook.  
Groves lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Groves dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Groves.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Redhead pivots from in front of his opponent.  Redhead is on target with a left hook.  Groves holds on to his opponent.  Redhead is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Groves throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Redhead pushes his forearm into Groves's face.  The ref breaks Groves's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Groves drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Redhead tries to land a jab, but Groves parries the shot and counters with a stinging left hook.  
Redhead sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Groves strikes his opponents body with a cross.  Groves throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook to Groves's body.  
Groves advances into close range and lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head.

Redhead leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Groves tries to tag Redhead on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  Groves is on target with a sharp right hook to his opponents body.

Groves is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Groves lands two right uppercuts followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND REDHEAD IS DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  It looks like Redhead has now recovered from that shot earlier.

Groves is on target with a FEARSOME cross.  REDHEAD WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Redhead quickly recovers. 
Redhead steps away from his opponent.  Groves connects with a DESTRUCTIVE overhand left.  REDHEAD IS HURT!  
Groves advances into close range.  Groves senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Groves lands a left uppercut to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a cross to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head.  The winner by KO is Groves!
