Mark Scroggin vs Leeroy Caffrey

Boxing Daily Report from the FightArama promoted show at Seddon Park, Hamilton,  taking place on 03/02/2046:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the New Zealand Super Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TV One, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Mark Scroggin (14(1) - 3) who hails from Manukau, New Zealand and Leeroy Caffrey(6 - 6) from Auckland, New Zealand.  Both Scroggin and Caffrey weighed in at 115 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Josh Methven, and the three ringside judges are Sam Shirah, David Darnley and Colin Honetana.  

Round 1: 

Scroggin connects with a cross.  
Scroggin closes the distance.  Scroggin quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a right uppercut to Caffrey's body.  
Scroggin throws a right hook, but his opponent steps away from the shot.  Scroggin clinches his opponent.  Scroggin is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Scroggin about fouling.  
Scroggin lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Scroggin ties up his opponent.  Scroggin leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Scroggin walks Caffrey down, trapping him in a corner.  Scroggin lands a left hook, right uppercut and a right hook to his opponents body.  Scroggin clinches his opponent.  Scroggin leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Caffrey dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Scroggin lands a left hook to the body, a jab to the head and a cross to the head.

Scroggin throws a left hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Scroggin holds on to his opponent.  Scroggin is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.
