Umber Mandiang vs Boden St. Jean

Boxing Daily Report from the Danquah Promotions promoted show at Varil Etienne Gym, Dakar,  taking place on 31/01/2022:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Senegal-Dakar Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Umber Mandiang (4 - 2) who hails from Dakar, Senegal and Boden St. Jean(2 - 4 - 3) from Dakar, Senegal.  Both Mandiang and St. Jean weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Brigham Coly, and the three ringside judges are Royal Ankah, Brigham Coly and Garner Leye.  

Round 1: 

St. Jean gets on the inside.  As Mandiang tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as St. Jean dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Mandiang finds the target with a jab.  
St. Jean advances into close range.  St. Jean pivots to the left of his opponent.  Mandiang connects with a right hook.  
St. Jean throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives Mandiang time to recover.  
St. Jean drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Mandiang tries to step out of his opponents range and finds the target with a jab.  
St. Jean advances into close range.  Mandiang throws a right hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mandiang's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  St. Jean's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  St. Jean's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.
