John Trahern vs Barry Greenshields

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Illinois promoted show at Dan Hilson Gym, Rockford,  taking place on 18/07/2022:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the USA-Illinois Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are John Trahern (5 - 5 - 2) who hails from Chicago, USA and Barry Greenshields(3 - 4 - 3) from Chicago, USA.  Trahern weighed in at 147 pounds, while Greenshields weighed in at 146 pounds and 4 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Matt Preddy, and the three ringside judges are Alen Valentine, Max Telfer and Jack Fiddes.  

Round 1: 

Trahern steps away from his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
Greenshields sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Trahern lands a jab.  
Trahern throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Greenshields closes the distance.  Trahern pivots to the side of his opponent andAs Greenshields tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Trahern.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Greenshields steps inside and throws a right hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Greenshields lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.

Greenshields is looking to close the distance.  Trahern pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.  
Trahern pivots from in front of his opponent.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Trahern has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
