Lyle Segalen vs Leo Cappaert

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Belgium-Wallonia promoted show at Charleroi Desailly, Charleroi,  taking place on 30/07/2022:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the Belgium Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Lyle Segalen (8(1) - 0 - 1) who hails from Liege, Belgium and Leo Cappaert(4 - 7 - 1) from Antwerp, Belgium.  Both Segalen and Cappaert weighed in at 121 pounds and 11 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Vermont Nicolas, and the three ringside judges are Terus Van den Houke, Villiers Nicolas and Xebec Oyer.  

Round 1: 

Segalen gets on the inside.  Segalen pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a right hook.

Segalen lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Segalen throws a right hook, but is unable to find the target.  Segalen holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Segalen pushes his forearm into Cappaert's face.  The referee warns Segalen and breaks the clinch.  
Segalen is on target with a right hook to Cappaert's ribs.  
Segalen pivots to the right of his opponent and hits home with a right uppercut.  
Segalen connects with a left uppercut.  
Segalen steps inside.  Cappaert pivots to the right of his opponent.  Segalen lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Segalen ties up his opponent.  The ref breaks Segalen's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Segalen advances into close range.  Segalen pivots to the left of his opponent.  Cappaert throws a right hook, but Segalen clinches his opponent.  Segalen is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Cappaert tries to land a jab, but Segalen dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Segalen is looking to close the distance.  Segalen pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Segalen is looking to close the distance.  Segalen is on target with a right uppercut to Cappaert's body.  Cappaert wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref steps in and separates the two fighters to check for damage.  Its not looking good!  The ref has ruled that the fight cannot continue due to the accidental damage.  As less than 4 rounds have been completed its going to be a no-contest!
